Gaiman is wonderful isnt he? I would recommend Raymond E Feist, particularly the Riftwar series and the Serpentwar series. They are magical books, no pun intended.
Robert R McCammon also does some wonderful work, some of it light horror and some of it just great stories that will grab you and not let go. Boys Life is probably his best work, I think.

George R. R. Martin...A Song of Fire and Ice...
It's a series of 5 books so far with a 6th due to come out sometime in '09...at least that's what the author is saying. Great series, if you have the patience to wait in between installments...they're typically 3-5 years apart.

That's A Song of Ice and Fire and yes, they rock. One of the best series I've read, in fact.
As for Neil Gaiman, I loved American Gods and his book with Terry Pratchett Good Omens. Stardust was good, but I actually enjoyed the movie more. I think the story just seems to need a more driven pace, but that's just me.
While I'm not a big fan of his Star Wars books, Kevin J Anderson's Saga of the Seven Suns is a fantastic series. I'm on book 5 so far.

Looks like I need to be taking this all down, lol. Thanks for the recommendations.Am. Gods is pretty kick-ass even though the ending kind of left me flat, but it was good reading in the meanwhile.I don't think audiences would be ready for it if they adapted it to a movie,no way,lol

Now I"m a hue bookworm, but i've never heard of these books, what genre are they? I tend to read sci-fi/fantasy mostly and avoid horror and romance if i can.

Looks like all of these are sci-fi or fantasy authors. George R. R. Martin has been around for a while, but only recently gotten notoriety for the Song of Ice and Fire series. Its a great set of books, very captivating and often surprising storyline.

Still waiting for the next installment...GRRM has been working on this book for like four years now!
