Like a song. Jimmy crack corn and I don’t care. Okay if you do not care why did you write a song about it?
A name of something. Like hotdogs. Why are they called hotdogs? There is no dog in them. But there is a dog-nicknamed wiener dog. We all know they are made from lips and assholes. 
Then you have cobwebs. Is there a cob spider? If so what does it look like?

Ya know...I know a lot about music and songs...and the such. And I also know a lot about how songs came about, why they were written...and the meaning behind them, as well as behind certain lyrics...it's a hobby of mine I guess...
And well, I too have always wondered that about the 'America' song "Ventura Highway"
Only thing I do know about this song...
America member Dewey Bunnell wrote this. It is about a trip fellow band member Dan Peek took with his parents. They were in the Ventura area when they got stranded with a flat tire.
And rumor also has it that the "Joe" they spoke of in this song...(Tell me, how long you gonna stay here Joe?)...was a reference to Jimi Hendrix.
The song (Just like "No Time" by the Guess Who) was making reference to the falling out between Hendrix and Guess Who member Burt Cummings. ...
However, I'm not too sure about that part, only of the part above the 1st fact...
