A long time ago, when the Bruins were the team to beat (Bobby Orr and company) All the teams were rivals. The Boston - Buffalo rivalry is more in football than hockey, wouldn't you say, Sylvan?

Id say its both. I think the rivalries come from the teams being in the same divisions, and having a long history of knocking each other out of the playoffs.

I grew up a Bruins fan, but I lived in Toronto for a while, so I like the Maple Leafs as well. It really doesn't matter because both of them have no chance to win the Stanley Cup this season. Sylvan69, I was so rooting for the Sabres to go all the way last year... I really thought they could do it. Buffalo lost some good players like Drury, so it might tougher for them this season. At least their new uniforms look sharp, lol.... good to see some colour coming back into fashion after all that black the past ten years!

The rivalry is just a fun thing to keep going. Besides if anyone takes any of this seriously, they shouldn't be on here. It's fun to rub in that your team won!!

8-1 Buffalo over Carolina last night.
This week they're going to the west coast. Then its back home to take on Boston.
Jenn, about that cross checking penatly in the Tampa/Boston game....there was one guy who got 2 minutes for tripping at the 14 minute mark (or 6 minutes left in the period - periods are 20 minutes). Then there was the other guy who got 2 minutes for cross checking 49 seconds later (or at the 14:49 mark), with 5 minutes and 11 seconds left in the period. Thats also why Tampa had 5 men on the ice and Boston had 3 men. Then Tampa scored which allowed the first guy out of the box early. Hope that helps explain it.
