last year my kids decided they were gonna start collecting aluminium cans for some extra pocket money and like most fads that lasted a week or so and they were over it. meanwhile I decided,oh well, only throwing out these beer cans anyway , may as well toss 'em ina bag in the shed and let them add up a bit.
cos of all the pissheads around here  the cans soon outgrew the bag, so I found a huge 6ft high plastic bag that they use when they sell new mattress's and hung that in the shed in the corner and continued to toss said cans in that....
well as time has wandered on the bag has filled to over flowing so yesterday i decided to pull them all out on the concrete driveway and squash em flat so they'll take up less room in the bag.
 now standing there flattening a cpl thousand aluminium cans by stomping them flat i got to thinking, is this something of a proud achievement, re-cycling all these cans, or an embarressment knowing we'd drank most of their contents.
and then as I'm wading through these cans, I'd see a differant brand to th normal hahn ice cans and i could even remember who drank that kind and roughly when they did at some BBQ or what-ever get together it was.
kinda like flipping through an aussie family album hey don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we're a bunch of drunks,I'm sure i spotted at least half a dozen coke cans in there somewhere.

There used to be a bar in Crown King, Az. up in the mountains by
Horse Thief Basin that their whole parkin' lot was crushed cans..
Hell, that was 30 years ago..

Yep, it does..I was on a job up in the basin
and that was the nearest place to get booze..
About 20 miles of really bad mountain/desert road to get to it..
About a 2 hour drive with a 4WD truck, but it was worth it
for the ice cold beer and booze

there's a house on the mainland that is built out of beer and wine bottles, all laid on their sides and set in mortor from the outside the ends of the bottles look like circles in stone.
they also build houses out of straw bales and spray cement render over them.
