Seems a tad redundant to me 
Like being jacked upso you need a ladder to get in and out

we get the yuppies around here like that too 
mines been re-welded twice since it was fitted 3 yrs ago and has the battle scars to prove it ain't there for looks
if you look in the background of my profile pic you'll actually see it
in my line of work it saves a lot of sticks and tree branches from scratching the front of the truck or breaking plastic indicator lens..

i had a small branch get tangled up underneath the truck a cpl of weeks ago off-roading and it broke a small alloy y-shaped block off a brake cylinder mounted in the chassis rails. this piece isn't much bigger than a dime to look at but it cost $607 to replace 
the cylinder equalizers your front and rear brakes and without it you only have half your braking capacity so it had to be replaced
that was part of my easter present,,the bill

that was only half the bill, by the time they did an oil change and service and added labour it went up to $1 300 . lucky its tax deductable
