Nothing like having a bridge wash out and leave you stranded in BFE.

One thing about rainy seasons. You never know if the road will be there tomorrow.

He started out in NC and drove to PA to drop off his youngest son with his mom and then to Minnesota to see his two oldest kids. In a few days he is heading to Ft Huachuca in southern AZ and then the southern route back to NC. He has a van with a bed in it and pulling into rest stops and RV parks.

I love cold weather and snow but too easy to get stranded along the way in storms.

Yep..I was strande for 3 days in Wyoming once.. Truckers burning spare tires to keep warm.. A few food trucks, so we ate well, just cold and several feet of drifted snow

I have spent time in the Dakotas, on the Canadian border in NY and Colorado. That is how I know that I would not take that trip this time of year.

I saw a pic of the house I was born in.. Snow drifts over the house, railroad tracks all you could see was about ten feet of the telegraph poles..
Dad walked 3 miles to town to get the doc and they came back by horse and sleigh on the RR tracks..
