i watched one of those ; how its made, segments the other night that showed you guys have caramel covered apples covered in crushed nuts 
don't think i'd like them much

over here we make toffee apples instead, usually bright red .made the same way as the caramel bit  but not with the nuts on top

We have them here too.
In New York it is usually the guy who didn't pay his protection money. He may be missing a few bits when he washes up though.
