Anyone here love music as much as I do? Ever listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn? He has an insturmental called Lenny, that song is one that you couldnt put words to, it would ruin it! It was written by him for his wife Lenny Rumor has it that he wrote it one night on stage when they were supposed to be "on break". he sat there jamming while peering into his wifes eyes, The drummer and bass player decided to just fill in the background and it became a 5+minute jam session that they later recorded because Stevie could remember EVERY note he played! Now thats love and thats a musician! By the way, I forgot to mention, he couldn't read a NOTE of music at all. I can list some songs to sample if anyone would care to experience one of the greatest blues / rock guitarists ever.. Even Eric Clapton called this man a genius! Ironically it was IN Eric Clapton's helicopter that he has killed when it hit the side of a mountian in the fog after a concert.

Hell yes, and more than likely even more so!!
Ever listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn? Well, let me put it like this...I have every album he's ever had, plus a couple of bootlegs! Not only that but I was lucky enough to see him in concert! Fact is...it was his very last concert. Which of course we know was in Alpine Valley, in East Troy Wisconsin.
It was sadly enough the only time I ever got to see him in concert...and what a show!! And it's too bad he was taken from the music world so soon...as he was just starting to hit his prime!
Six Strings Down...what a fucking awesome song which was written in memory of Stevie!

'Six Strings Down' - By Aaron Neville / C. Neville / E. Kalb / K. Smith / Jimmy Vaughan (Recording of 1998)
Alpine valley In the middle of the night Six strings down On the heaven-bound flight Got a pick, a strap, guitar on his back Ain’t gonna cut the angels no slack Heaven done called Another blues-stringer back home See the voodoo chile Holding out his hand I’ve been waitin’ on you brother Welcome to the band Good blues-stringin’ Heaven-fine singin’ Jesus, Mary and Joseph Been lis’nin’ to your playin’ Heaven done called Another blues-stringer back home Lord they called Another blues-stringer back home Albert Collins up there Muddy an’ Lightnin’ too Albert King and Freddy Playin’ the blues T-Bone Walker, Guitar Slim Little Son Jackson and Frankie Lee Sims Heaven done called... Another blues-stringer back home Lord they called... Another blues-stringer back home Lord they called... Another blues-stringer back home Heaven done called... Another blues-stringer back home Lord they called... Another blues-stringer back home Heaven done called... Another blues-stringer back home They called... Another blues-stringer back home Back home
"Six Strings Down" is a song written by Art Neville, Eric Kolb, Aaron Neville, Cyril Neville, Kelsey Smith, and Jimmie Vaughan, and which first appeared on Jimmie Vaughan's album Strange Pleasure in 1995. The song was written as a eulogy to Jimmie Vaughan's brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and, by extension, many other fallen guitarists.
In its original incarnation, the song takes the form of an acoustic blues. The opening line, "Alpine Valley/Middle of the Night" refers to the Alpine Valley Music Theater near Troy, Wisconsin where the helicopter carrying Stevie Ray Vaughan and several others crashed following a concert in 1990. The song references many other deceased blues music guitarists including Jimi Hendrix (the "voodoo chile"), Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, and Albert King. The song's refrain mourns that "Heaven done called another blues stringer back home".
All-star versions of the song were played at a tribute concert to Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1996 and, in a raucous version, at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004.
You can also find the song on the Music DVD...
"A Tribute To Stevie Ray Vaughan"
The concert was recorded on May 11, 1995 in Austin, Texas.
The various musicians perform the following songs:
"Pride and Joy" (Bonnie Raitt) "Texas Flood" (Jimmie Vaughan) "Telephone Song" (B. B. King) "Long Way From Home" (Buddy Guy) "Ain't Gone 'N Give Up On Your Love" (Eric Clapton) "Love Struck Baby" (Robert Cray) "Cold Shot" (Dr. John)
Then they all get together for a jam sessions...and play...
("Six Strings Down")
"Tick Tock" "SRV Shuffle"
If you really like SRV, blues music, or music in general...you'll love this DVD!! "Six Strings Down" and "Tick Tock" are two very beautiful songs!!
I'm not ashamed to admit that when I was driving home after seeing SRV in Alpine Valley, at his last ever concert...I actually began to cry just a bit.
However, when I heard "Six Strings Down" on this DVD and seeing all the greats get together to sing this song...I actually did cry. And still tear up just a bit when I hear this song...

Wasn't there another song written about SRV, (i'm sure many songs) but it went something like "I hope you get comfort that I couldn't give you there" or something like that? I can't remember...It'll come to me in a minute....
OH on my favorites I forgot Alice N Chains
