Ok lads this thread will do exactly what it says on the tin. Im really dumb when it comes to Geography. All I know is that The U.S. is really far away from where I am. I was hoping that everyone might be able to visit this thread and just tell me where exactly your from ( state, city, etc.) and why you like/dislike it.
Cause I am really clueless on this one. All I know is that Hollywood is in California and that New York is called the big apple. I know How embarrassing is that??

I'm from Kewanee, Illinois. It's called the midwest, the town i live in is surrounded by corn fields and farms. I'm about a 3 hr drive from the "Windy City" of Chicago, home to the Bear's football team, and The Sears Tower.

I live in Indiana, The part I live in is fairly flat and I miss the mountains I grew up with. But, it is very green during the warmer months and we occasionally have snow. I like that. This part of the state is pretty much a big cornfield. But, I am not that far from Chicago or Indianapolis so that's a plus.

I am from New Hampshire. Home of Mt. Washington (Guinness book of records for strongest wind >200mph) State with the smallest seacoast (I think its like 34 miles). Lots of mountains, ski areas, very pretty. Not much snow this year, though. We are about 2 1/2 hours north of Boston, Massachussetts.

I'm from the sticks.. but I live in Ashland, Oregon on the west coast of the US. About two hours drive from the coast and twenty minutes from California. It's the home of the Oregon Shakesperean festival, an artists mecca, lots of new vinyards and home to Harry and David as well as Jackson and Perkins Roses. It's gorgeous here.. almost every winter day is misty and soft.. some snow but not a lot.. summer can get HOT. There are 7 city parks in town, one designed by the same person who designed the big park in San Francisco.. the name of which escapes me.
Yeah, I love it here.. you should come visit :D

I live in central Alabama. It is a south eastern state, also know as the Heart of Dixie. Here we raise a lot of cotton, soybeans, some corn, and cattle. This area of the state is fairly flat, compared to farther north, where it becomes mountainous. To the southern part of the state is the Gulf Coast, or Gulf of Mexico. Hope this helps you out some.

I live in Northern California, near Yreka, it's 22 miles from Oregon between two volcanoes, Mt Shasta to the south and Mt Ashland to the north. Back in the day, it was gold mines and lumber. OH, the volcanoes are currently dorment, but if they start smoking, I'm Outa here. LOL, I've probably driven past Ponme's house a 100 times on my way to Medford. We get snow in the winter and can get hot in the summer.

I live in Wisconsin - a Midwestern state that borders south-eastern Canada near lake Superior. It's called "America's Dairyland" and we're known for our cranberries, beer, sausage, cheese, and cows. Moo.
Oh yeah, and we got the Harley Davidson factory in Milwaukee.

I'm in Michigan. Northern Michigan. Home of snow, hills, trees, lots of rivers, lakes and streams. Not many people though. if you hold up your right hand so that the palm faces you and look in the middle of the first joint of your middle finger... you will find the town I live in. We are Sister City to Pontrasena Switzerland, home of the Alpenfest and home to the ONLY 1911 Gaylord car in the world.
I love it here in the frozen north...

I'm just across the Irish sea from you and about 90 miles from the South Coast of England. I'm so hopeless at geography I can get myself lost just walking out the front door!
