Like several other states, Texas has different sections that are like foreign countries to one another, plus it is obviously a big state. I have no more unique interest in what goes on in El Paso than I do Bangor, Maine.

I agree WoW.. I think of Texas as the 5 states it could be split into.. Smile.. I have traveled to all of them not sure which one I like the most but I suppose where ever I am it is best to make it into a great adventure.. Smile.... I am liking the Dallas Area.. I will be happy when I can finally kind of settle in and have weekends there.. Smile.. Soon it will happen.. I am looking forward to Spring and the Scarborough Faire.. I looked at their website yesterday and I have never been so closest to a Rena fest that I can conceiveably go every weekend whooo hoooooo or even work there every weekend lots of possibilities.. Life is indeed good..

Texas is such a big state. I have liked it every part at one time or the other. I moved to Houston in 1969 and have enjoyed living here. It is a great place to live if you need to work because there is a job for anyone that wants one. I retired just over 3 years ago and moved to east Texas. I think that is the prettiest part in my book. It is one lake after another and some of the best bass fishing in the country. We have the Big Thicket Forest and The Angelina Forest with rolling hills and Magnolia ans Dogwood trees growing wild everywhere. In Spring when the trees are in bloom It is so nice just to drive and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The Oklahoma State fair is one of the best I have ever been to. The only one I have seen to equal is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It has been increased to three week of rodeo and is still sold out almost every night. There is 40-50 thousand people in the arena every show. They say 250,000 people come to the shows and midway every weekend day and over 100,000 on week days.

Hello All. i've seen quite a bit of Texas, "geogrophically speaking," but after 45yrs, finally realized life's not waiting....
how does a guy "get it" without begging?;) i've nearly booked a flight to Las Vegas a few times, but who knows...
anyway.. just "putting my foot in the door" now. Hope to become part of the group.
PS. has anyone gotten a picture to successfully upload here using Windows Mobile?

I want a magic wand to get all this crap out of my house so I can leave for good already.. And perhaps sleep in the sheep yard all day in the shade with a Ram near by..

Forget Rednecks, here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about folks from Texas... If someone in a Lowe's store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may be in Texas. If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may be from Texas. If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you may be from Texas. If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Dallas for the weekend, you may be from Texas. If you measure distance in hours, you may be from Texas. If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may be from Texas. If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may be from Texas. If you carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Texas. If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph and you're going 80 and everybody is passing you, you may be in Texas. If you find 60 degrees 'a little chilly', you may be from Texas. If you actually understand these jokes and forward them to all your Texas friends & others, you are definitely from Texas.
Ok I am from Texas and believe it or not I have done most of the things on this list or well you know and yes I do know how to use jumper cables...

RedBronze I resemble those remarks, so I'll just say I must be a Redneck Texan.

I think it is time to announce that Texas is asleep. After all attempts to draw some interest in the Texas Forum we found only 3 or 4 people awake in Texas.
