I was wondering. A 40 year old virgin is very rare, and there is a reason that I have turned out like this. I was emotionaly and sexually abused as a child by my mother and her brother. My mother was a horrble alcoholic and she did many horrible things such as killing my dog. One of my earliest memories is of her staggering out of her bedroom naked and collapsing on the floor. She wasted away and finally died when I was 13.
As a result of my childhood I developed extreme anxiety, especially in sexual situations. This is the main reason that I have remained a virgin. When I get into a situation with a woman that my lead to sex my anxiety gets so high that I have a panic attack.
So I was wondering if this type of story would make anyone think that I am creepy in any way - like Norman Bates. I assure you that I have no urges to hack anyone up with a kitchen knife.

The story itself is sad but not creepy.
Sharing it with complete strangers that you'll never meet is creepy.

I would not share my story it if my identity was not completely hidden. You really think it is only sad and not pathetic? That is really encouraging! Thanks!!!

ignore miss personality above me..
It's not at all creepy.. lot's of people have been abused. Lots of different reactions to that abuse. Hey.. you made it through and are still standing up though right? That makes you a pretty strong person in my book!

This is terribly sad! You should use my motto - leave everything that's not worth remembering in the past. Look to the future.......be determined to not let this slimeball ruin the rest of your life.....you can gain more personal satisfaction that way.....AND it doesn't hurt to know that they will burn in hell for eternity for doing something so cruel to a child. There's a problem with that though verygoodgirl. My mother was really just a very sick woman. I really don't think she was evil. Her brother really only fondled me one time and they kept him away from me after that. It's just hard not to think about my mother. I am just thankful that I haven't ended up with urges to do nasty things.

Sorry to hear of what happened to you in your childhood 40yearoldvirgin...I wish you luck on getting over this and for having these anxiety and panic attacks! And no, your story is not pathetic in the least...but it's very sad that you had to deal with this sort of thing. And it's something you'll of course have to deal with your whole life...but it's how you deal with it that's important!
Hang in there! Being able to talk about it openly and freely is a great step to recovery!
