 Who would be interested in getting together for an AMD party  in Albany, NY either Aug 30 or Sept 6 2008 at a local club or sports bar?
It's my birthday Sept 3 and I will be out there on vacation from Alaska.
I thought it would be great if some of the folks here could get together in a neutral environment and share some of the goofiness and fun we have on the forums, blogs and chat. Chance for us to meet and greet.   Oh yaea and did I say PARTY
Email me or leave coments here if you are up for it. Then I can find a place and give the management some numbers.

OK the WHEN : AUGUST 30 definitely. I plan to be somewhere else on Sept 6 
Now I just need to find a suitable location. Any suggestions from anyone out there?

August 30, ok. How close to downtown Albany do you want to stay? Lots of places on Wolf Road, and lots of places just outside of town. Though it might be nice to stay at or near a hotel for those of us travelling. Hate to go far after partying. And you said this would be a party, right?

A hotel with a restaurant/bar and somewhere for dancing would be great. But I have never been there so I am still planning this stage.

One conflict will be the Saratoga Races. I believe August 30 will be the biggest race of the season at the Saratoga Racecourse, the Travers. Hotels like the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road and the like will be booked and all raise their prices for the race season. (I've worked in the area in the past)
Perhaps something south of the city might have more availability. If anyone has other ideas, great. I'll check on a couple places I'm familiar with. I know of one hotel south of albany, with a steak house and bar attached.
