Haha, yeah you're right, this is definitely not a "looking to fall in love" photo... actually, it's a new photo. There is a guy I've been chatting to on here for a bit now and I took these recent pics for him (he didn't ask me to... it was one of those, I was thinking of him so took some photos inspired by my thoughts of him). And really, I joined the site for a laugh and a bit of distraction... wasn't expecting to "meet" someone I could potentially really fall for.
How do you think distance could be an advantage?

How many people have met and fallen in love online? Loads! I've got members of my extended family who've met that way and are now happily married with great kids, so the only way you're going to go wrong is if you don't at least explore the relationship and see what happens - then you'll never know. depends on the person. I've had several online relationships I was in love with all of them, one loved me until she met me (gave me some BS about it being too intense and she didn't think she could keep her choice to stay a virgin till marriage), one loved my mind/imagination but didn't really care about the rest, and the third one lasted a really long time but then one day she vanished, haven't heard from her in over a year. However I loved them and others despite #1 was a "butterface" (yeah I know its a vulgar term but its the most fitting), #2 was 9 years older then me (at 21 that's a big jump), and I never really found out what #3 looked like.

I'm not sure; leaning towards a "no"
To me, there needs to be that person-to-person connection that can only happen physically being with someone, touching them, breathing the air that just came out of their lungs, getting lost in their eyes for what seems like hours. Nothing can replicate that, and while SO much can be gained and built online, I think there needs to be that actual human spark that can only happen with the person directly in front of you.

I've been on more then a few "dating" websites and seem to attract only players. At least on a sex website, we all know what we are here for and if an actual relationship should happen, it's just icing on the cake.
Since you are pretty much taking the sexual aspect out of the mix, (since it is already taken for granted and expected, which it should be on this type of site) I think it takes some of the tension out of the situation.

It happened to me and when we actually met, it was even better. I know it doesn't always turn out like that. Unfortunately my situation ended and I'm on the prowl again :P

It's tough to meet someone to fall in love with on a traditional dating site & I would imagine that even less people here have luck meeting someone for a serious relationship.
