Some people think that people with southern accents are stupid, most men say that women with southern accents are sexy. Now why is that? Are men looking for stupid women? Or do they just like the sound? I've always wondered about that. lol I may be southern, but I'm far from stupid.

I'm a musician and I think people like certain accents just as they like different kinds of music. When it comes to accents we all have a different rhythm and different tone and pitch. Some tones are more pleasing to the ear..and the verbal accents we all use will simply turn some heads and not others. i for one love a southern accent, australian,english,scottish..irish..and there are some I don't like..German being one..

Blueeyes - I know exactly what you mean....it just pisses me off when I'm on the phone for business and they automatically assume - 1) oh it's a female and 2) she's a country bumpkin. MAKES ME SO MAD!!!

Well Blue just speakin for myself I happen to think that southern accents are so sexy and no I don't think a woman with a southern accent is stupid. There are stupid people all over the world and if they think you are stupid because you have a southern accent well they are the stupid ones.

I've got a southern accent, so you're not alone in receiving stereotypical remarks. When I went to California, I finally got so fed up about the ignorance that I started saying, "Yeah, I'm from Texas. I just rode in on a horse, and my daddy owns a bunch of oil wells." Accents are nice.
