I hate when I meet someone I really like, and it gets down to us talking on the phone, and then they laugh at my southern accent. Just because I talk the way I do, please don't dis-credit me as an inbred, tobacco chewing idiot....because I'm not!!!!!

You have nothing to be ashamed of because of your accent! Southern accents are very cute and sexy! That together with your looks and your personality (from what I can tell by reading some of your blogs/essay/comments/threads)...make a total package! I can't imagine anyone not being attracted to that!

VGG don't you worry about a thing. Southern accents are the sexiest I've ever heard. I am an Indiana transplant that now lives in Tennessee. I have always loved the south and the accent. Those people that laugh at your accent are the ignorant ones. You are a beautiful young lady and should be very proud of your southern roots.

Yeah, I get that a lot. Not that the accent is sexy, but that it is different. When you are from NC and living in central NY, it sticks out like a sore thumb. At first I was self-conscious, but now I wear it like a badge of honor. Everybody asks if I am from Texas? We in the south can tell different regional variations lol. And I agree with yall, where I'm from, everyone else has an accent. BTW, I saw Hillary Clinton's speech in Ala., and her fake southern accent sucks!

I kind of feel left out... I don't have an accent! I think I just sound pretentious...
I don't think it's fair to discriminate against a regional or international accent, but I admit it gets aggravating if it's incomprehensible. I mean, a light, gravelly Southern drawl is a lot different than a James Carville-style cajun style. So is your average English accent as compared to the superthick Cockney. Let's just make sure we understand each other and at least have some overlap in our metaphors.

Living in the deep South, as I do, I will be the first to say that a Southern accent on a beautiful woman such as you, makes you ROCK ever more! And I a transplant, and I am planted, not going back! Keep your accent, honey... Someone will give you an extra round just for that!
