Hot seems to imply a sexual desire, while beautiful would describe a romantic leaning. Or at least in my little world, I like my little world, so peaceful

hmm hot seems to hold more of a sexual conotation .....where beautifull is more an apperance......i'm sure with more thought i'd do better at this...can i think bout it ???

To me:
1) Regarding looks:
a) hotness suggests sexuality, and the observer would like to cultivate that trait;
b) beauty is either classic--symmetry, proportions, radiance--or personal, as in, perceived by the observer but not universal. In either case, the effect is more aesthetic than sexual, though the two aren't mutually exclusive. Case in point: classically, artistic renderings of both men and women tend to emphasize their beauty without portraying them as sexual beings.
2) Regarding attitude:
a) some people just exude hotness, looks notwithstanding. Conversely, some people look beautiful and just aren't hot at all;
b) Beauty is a trait we come to recognize in people we know personally and learn to trust and love. Some people are just beautiful. 
... and if you made it this far, then sorry--I don't have any other ideas for curing your insomnia, and I can't prescribe anything until I complete the licensing process. Sleep tight!

"Hot" is a mere glance in Walmart as you see her walk by and think "DAMN!"
Beautiful is the person behind the "damn". When you actually have a conversation with them and still think they're "hot". Or, at best, they make you hotter.
Hot is a simple compliment of your appearance. Beautiful is the whole grasp of who you are as a person.
That's just my definition. To me, you are "HOT" and you seem to be quite beautiful as well.

I'm going to relate this to men because...well...I like men! So, it'll be the difference between "hot" and "handsome".
First - "Handsome" has to do with how attractive I find someone...nice features...but isn't a sexual thing. I can see a man and find him to be handsome and leave it at that. "Hot", on the other hand, means he's sexually appealing to me. That means I want him. NOW.
