This term always brought up strange visuals for me.I imagine "casual vs. formal",does it mean the difference of showing up at your date's house in jeans or a tux?
Some people get really passionate about casual sex being wrong or imoral.They talk of spiritual bonding and self value.All well and good I suppose,but there are some folks who just aren't cut out for relationships,there are people in between relationships and they want a break.They still have needs/wants/desires.Is celibacy their only "moral" option?Why or why not?

The decision to have sex should be mutual. So if one is looking for a casual thing, he/she should make absolutely certain that the other partner be of the same mindset at the very beginning. Same goes for those who want more. Also each person should be willing and able to respect the choices of the other.
There is nothing wrong with casual sex, nor is there anything wrong with wanting more than just a quick fuck with a stranger. To each his/her own.

I guess I don't see casual sex as meaning sex only. To me, causal sex is "no-strings' sex - meaning, no commitment or expectations of a commitment - but that doesn't mean there aren't other aspects to the relationship. Like sex with my ex - it doesn't mean that we're getting back together or it's even leading in that direction, but we a friends, know each other well, and have a level of comfort that allows for some good times, no-strings. This is not to be mistaken for a "fuck buddy", which I see is a relationship that is based soley on sex.

Very good point BBW.I guess it boils down to what sex is to the individual.Some feel that it is much more than bodies clinking together and they talk of spiritual bonding and expression of love and they see the act as somehow sacrosanct and anything outside of a committed relationship as tantamount to blasphemy.
Personally I think sex can mean many things to many people.It certainly can be a high spiritual expression of love in a committed relationship,but it can also mean just scratching an itch.I see nothing wrong with either definition or practice.But that's me.
