I've met 2 people in person, not from this site, but other ones in the past 2 years. I let a family member know where I was going and called them to check in. Things went ok with no problems.

Yes i've met several people i've met first online. I don't have to worry about this anymore, but when i was meeting someone my best friend and i had an agreement. I would tell her who i was meeting and where, she would call me to make sure everything was alright, and i would have to report in when i got home so she knew i was safe. If i didn't answer my cell or call her back within so much time of a missed call she was to take appropriate measures. Besides that she and i tell each other everything, and there's no judgement about each others choices.

msn chatrooms use to have some pretty nice "room parties" held in varies towns & cities, I've attended many of them & have met plenty of those I've chatted with. Some were idiots as they were in the chatrooms, but most were nice people. Its great to
sit there talk & actually interact with those you have only seen online. I plan on meeting more.

I am new here so haven't met anyone yet.
Some of my closest friends have come from Match.com and Yahoo. I also have some very good friends (and now business partners) from Myspace.

In the past, I organized a few local AOL parties...have also been to some local singles events. Never met anyone I was interested in, but I did have fun at all the events. If nothing else, getting out and mingling can be great fun...I get to practice flirting!
