Remaining a virgin until you are married is a pre 1914 Victorian ideology that went out of style along with hobble skirts , spats , and straw skimmers . To be honest I don't know if that was a good thing or not .

When I was a young man (and that was quite some time ago) a mentor told me there were three things required for a good relationship/marriage, friendship, love and sex. And not necessarily in that order. I'm pretty confident that when most people get married they love each other and are good friends, if not best friends. If sex is 1/3 of that formula, why would you ever get married without trying it out first. I did have premarital sex with my first wife. And even though it wasn't great, I always thought it would get better. NOPE! Never happened. In fact, it got worse. I went without sex the last two years of our 17 year marriage. So even if you do have premarital sex, there's no guarantee it will last forever.

you are so right. sex before marriage was nothing short of fantastic  . after marriage sex slowed down and became more routine  . I was probably as guilty as he was

yes it's a good thing. this is now not then. I don't think there are many virgins on their wedding night. my husband and I weren't vergins and I know my son isn't a vergin
