About my work
My Key job responsibilities are:
? Ensuring the implementation of the hospital and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines and contribute to the formation of these as required.
? Participate and maintain the effective communication of information and data between team members, patients and family network and offer appropriate support and advice
? Initiate and develop new ideas and changes within the unit which encourage staff participation and result in improved patient care (either directly or indirectly)
? Share responsibility for appropriate and cost effective use of resources.
? Following the hospital policies for reporting accidents and incidents, showing an awareness of risk management in the workplace.
? Work at all time as part of the ward team, liaising closely with senior colleagues and respond positively to feedback from colleagues.
? Participate in providing high standard of clinical nursing care to meet clients needs within the agreed policies of the unit and hospital with support from colleagues
? Maintain and protect the safety, confidentiality and dignity of patients and their family.
? Observe nursing and midwifery council code of professional conduct at all time.
? Monitor patient on suicidal caution
? Pre and post electroconvulsive therapy care.
? Coordination of individual and group psychotherapy
? Provision and maintenance of therapeutic environment
? Health education
? Home visiting
? Active member of crises intervention team
? Wound care
? Feeding of helpless patient
? Collection of specimens
? Admission and discharges
? Administration of prescribed medication through various routes.
