Seriously not to be taken seriously
I just noticed that it's been quite a few umm ...years since I've updated my profile (the reason most of my profile pictures are from '06 is because they were fairly recent when I signed up). Most people tend to leave a site like this either when they've been burned or found what they're looking for; I was neither. I prefer the degree of "openness" one finds in people on an adult site, but I've also found there is a lot more to life than the number of notches on a bedpost. Sex is awesome, but it's not really my primary motivator anymore.
I'm happily single and not looking to change that status; I am however, a little bit bored on the "personal" front of late. Smart, funny, laid back is always a plus; if you happy to be a rich nymphomaniac supermodel who is into middle aged dudes, you go to the top of the list (...of my delusions at least).
The person I would like to meet
I'm not into jealous types. I don't lie when the truth is easier and I prefer that quality in people I associate with as well. As I said above, I'm really not looking towards anything long term at this point. If you're seeking "Prince Charming" (*cough* ...on an adult site) then I'm certainly not your man.
I lean mostly to the agnostic/atheistic end of the spiritual spectrum, but keep a fairly open mind; I prefer being around other free-thinking individuals but I hardly let my life revolve around it either. I don't buy into the "opposites attract" thing though, so I think there needs to be at least a little bit of common ground.
About my work
the big ugly secret rears its head on this question. I no longer work due to problems with chronic spells of disequilibrium and am considered 100% disabled as a result. Most of the time I appear painfully ordinary, but I use a cane to help with my balance. I've always been a bit of a klutz, and now I'm just a klutz with a cane. I'm not exceptionally sensitive or shy about it, but like most good cripples, I have good days and bad ones.
I'm self-sufficient; I have an income, my own place and car (sad that I should even have to mention that). I'm not well-off, but hardly destitute either.
What do you like to do for fun/hobbies?
I write a fair bit, although I've been inactive for some time due to some family issues (as in, serious illness and death in the immediate family, not the "drama" bit); my poison of choice is humor and satire. I have something of a bizarre sense of humor, and Dave Barry is probably my all-time hero.
I specialized in electronics in the auto field, but can fix nearly all things mechanical. I hobby a bit with computers and can build them with my eyes closed (in fact, people are always asking me if I had my eyes closed when I built that...). I'm a bit of a sci-fi and comic geek; I love to read and am less of a "film-snob" rather than a "movie buff" (with a guilty pleasure for b-movies). Due to my condition, I have a lot of "me time."
I love nearly all music aside from C&W and rap (although I handle both well enough in "doses"), although one of the many oddities of my "condition" is that although I'm a bit hard of hearing (working in auto shops 20+ years will do that), high volumes of noise tends to make my dizziness more severe.
If you are divorced/widower, you can talk about how that happened here.
I've never been "officially" married, but I ended an 8 year relationship in July '06 and have been in no rush to start anything serious since. It was a very amicable separation and there were no kids involved (outside of the 4 legged variety). She lives in MN now, and we're still friendly; no "baggage" on that front.
What is your academic background?
I had been an auto mechanic since around 1985, but studied art in college part time for years (I was late in my junior year last time I dropped out due to work conflicts). I've always enjoyed the learning experience and may eventually return to school again to finish my degree.
Where did you last vacation and did you like it?
Caribbean cruise! I loved it, but it there wasn't enough time to explore in the Yucatan (Chichen-Itza rocked though)!
What do you find attractive in people?
honesty. bluntness. sincerity. lots of patience. I think braininess is sexy!
What do others do that irritate you?
...not use their turn signals.
What one thing would you change about your personality if you could?
I've never figured out if I am too jaded, or too trusting.
What one question would you want answered in an initial email from another member?
You only have one match when you enter a dark and cold room. You come across an oil lamp, an oil heater, and a candle. What do you light first?
Describe your physique.
tall and mostly thin; I'm "that guy" at the store that people always ask to get that thing on the top shelf for them. I don't tend to work out a lot anymore, but I stay in reasonable shape; the dog makes sure I do plenty of walking.
What do you do well sexually?
oh puh-leaze. ...do women really believe anything a guy writes here anyway?
Do you have any STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases)?
Are you looking for a one night stand, to play for a while, or a long-term Adult relationship?
I'm willing to explore any of these options in theory, but for now I'd like to consider things on a "short-term" basis.
Make no promises, tell no lies.
Free Space. Say anything you want!
I don't bite and love to talk! Say hi anytime!
