ok.. I am sort of a newbie as far as blogs go and I don't really chat too much in chat rooms.. so, I keep seeing references to "Trolls". What is that? lol I hate feeling left out.. lol I don't know though.. some of the things I read tell me that Trolls aren't good things..

I'll let the more experienced members "clue" you in on "trolls". They are much more articulate than me about this subject; but, you are right in that they are not a good thing and in some cases can be dangerous individuals.

I think sumday got it for you. You well definately see them around here. They will start conflicts, target people, and groups, call names start fights, try to get everyone involved in their drama. The best way to handle them if you see them causing problems is to ignore what they wrte. Do not comment or respond to them. It is hard to do sometimes but in the long run it is worth it.

Ok so this is part of two comments but when read one after the other is makes me want to throw up. Tetons you should try changing your diet as chocolate covered assholes does not sound good to me!
Come to think of it the trolls on this site are very much as depicted in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of novels. They are made of rock and are mentally challenged in cold weather as their brains works slowly. God help us when summer comes as they might suddenly grow a braincell or two!

Ang, how long have you been here? I was under the impression that new women were hit by tens of thousands of "Wanna Fuck?" emails in their 1st month at the least. On personals sites, "Troll" takes on a more traditional meaning. The term comes from fishing: trolling is a technique whereby you run the motor on low, dragging the bait along slowly in the hopes of a better catch. You can see the analogy. On a site such as this, a "troll" will (we assume) post hundreds of short, blunt, emails to women's profiles. These are often of a crudely sexual nature, but are occasionally more subtle. It is the electronic equivalent of a cat call while walking by a construction site.

The reason we hate them, the reason I hate them, is they give decent, subtle, intelligent men a bad name. A woman (correct me if I'm wrong, ladies) who has read 50 "I've got a big dick! Come fuck me!" (sorry about the correct grammar. I can't help it.) emails, usually accompanied by close-up shots of said member's member, is going to be just disgusted with the entire gender by the time she gets to the one reasonable email message.

I know this because my wife has a profile on here, & she gets slammed by idiots all the time. After a while, you just start to hit "delete" without looking.
