I just found out about this today and had to share it with all of you.
We moved to the boonies........or, bumfuck........your choice, about a year ago. The local authorities are pretty lax overall and don't put overdue effort into trivial pursuits. In short, unless you're pretty dim, you can do about as you please without fear of repercussions. Well, our closest neighbors are all from rural areas. In fact, all 3 families are from around Columbus and moved here for 'country' life. Two of the 3 are relatives, sisters in fact. They own 80 acres bordering Wayne National Forest land. Being from the big city and being retired Sheriffs, they chose to continually bother every agency around to complain about local affairs. These being everything from trash along the roads, 4 wheelers running on the road, road maintenance, trespassers, stray dogs and poaching. For over 3 years, they'd called EVERY agency to bitch. Sheriff, dog warden, game warden, National Forestry and the county dept.. Well, they FINALLY got their due attention. So, the game warden makes regular trips through our area now. About 2 weeks ago, he made his first bust. Three guys in a car spot-lighting with an unloaded gun in the vehicle. It was right down the road. These guys got $150 fine each.......plus, the one got HOURS of community service and is not allowed to have a hunting OR fishing license for 1 year. Plus, a few years probation. The humorous part? The guy that got the heaviest penalties was the nephew of the guy making all of the complaints! In fact, he lives right next door to his uncle. Another case of 'be careful what you ask for'.

I love that story...it's as good as almost being run off the road by a speeder, only to find that about 10 miles up the road they have been pulled over by a Highway Patrolman.

Yeap, I to have to deal with the city slickers moving in around me, the corn fields are dwindling as new homes are being built. The owners are coming from the big cities and think they can stick their nose in anyone’s business. I had one guy bitch about something on my land, and I told him to keep his nose on HIS side of the fence.
