I think I have a nice mix of fun useless stuff and semi-educational fodder in here.
Quote of the week: “Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results.” Anon
Movie of the week: Airplane (“Surely you can’t be serious.” “I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley.”)
Song of the week: Ladies and Gentlemen by Saliva (“You’ve seen that seeing is believing”)
Drink of the week: Milk and gasoline (Something to do with the Darwin awards…..and vomiting….onto a fire….)
Food of the week: Cherries (I like to hold onto mine when I get em, and I never share with anyone.)
Literary figure of the week: Sydney Carton (Five gold stars to whoever names the book and author first…..but I really like this character……not to sure why….at times he reminds me of me, but then I start thinking and we are really nothing alike. Perhaps he has qualities I like to see in others, or perhaps I desire these qualities. Not sure, but I like him.)
Historical Figure of the week: Napoleon Bonaparte (Now who is more romantic than Napoleon….no one really. The Romantics loved to idolize this guy, and with good cause too. He helped end the reign of terror in the French Revolution, took control of the French government and crowned himself emperor (after snatching the crown out of the Pope’s hands), led the “liberation” of much of Europe from the Old Regime monarchies before turning around and conscripting his new followers into his army so that he could go another round, and when he was finally beaten, he came back a few months later and almost started the whole thing over again…..what a guy. “Able was I ere I saw Elba.” Read it backwards. He wrote this in exile on the island of Elba.)

I'm with you about the cherries! I like to eat them while I'm driving and blow the pits out the window!
There's a really good book that has Napolean Bonaparte as a background character, along with many other historical figures, called "The 8". It portrays him as a young man a few years prior to and up to the beginning of the Revolution. Real history is interwoven with pure fiction to make a great story!!
"Airplane"...what a classic!! Gotta love Leslie Neilson!

Napoleon Bonamite on Robot Chicken "Hey Napoleon, what country are you gonna invade today?" "Whatever country I FEEL like invading, GOSH!"
My favorite Airplane quote: "And thats, when it happened..." "Over Macho Grande'?" "No, I don't think I'll EVER be over Macho Grande'."
And by the way sugar, kudo to you for being the only Georgia dame I've found yet that actually will comment, email or even acknowledge the existence of a fellow. Your sisters in arms could take a lesson from ya, cheers
