Yeah, I know...it's old news.

But I went to the bank about a 1/2 hour ago...and I thought I'd ask if they had any yet. The lady taking care of me said that yes...they did have them.

So I thought what the hell...and I asked her for one. Just to see what it was like...nothing exciting be any means. Besides, how excited can you really get over a dollar these days?

Then I got home and tossed it in with my Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin, as well as my Sacagawea Golden Dollar Coin...and then I thought to myself...

Do we really need a new 1 dollar coin?! Hell, most people mistake the Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin for a frickin quarter...and the Sacagawea Golden Dollar Coin even though about the same size as a regular Silver Dollar...didn't last long. And now the new George Washington dollar coin

I guess one good thing about the new coins...the paper dollar bill lasts on average from 8 to 18 months...as where the coin averages 30 years.

Now you're asking yourself...why in the hell did he blog about some stupid coin?...Well...GOOD QUESTION!

Thanks to Sunshine79 for pointing out my stupidness... I now feel quite

I had walked to the store down the road a couple of blocks from where I live, to pick up a couple packs of smokes. And when I got home, I did some online banking...and I had the bank of the brain when I posted this blog. Sorry about that...

They were saying on the radio the other day that there are a lot of complaints about a dollar coin instead of a dollar bill. Especially from strippers, male and female.

Good one casuallylooking

However, I bet those wimmens stripers who can snatch up coins with their snatches don't complain...

Wells Fargo is! I know this because one of my sister-in-laws works for them as a mortgage originator and she's working today.

Glad to see that I am not the only one that throws dollar coins into a jar. I use my collection of them as "Emergency cash" but mostly they just hang out in the jar collecting dust along with the rest of the assortment of change that gets thrown into the jar.

Did you know that a 1 gallon pickle jar will hold upwards of $300 before it runs out of space and you have to start rolling change? I didn't either until the jar got full and I had to either start another one or roll change. The kids and I had a change rolling party and took a bunch to the bank to add to their college funds. LOL

The big problem with it I think is the fact that it can be confused with a quarter.
If they think I have time to see what image is on a coin when I spend it, they
are nuts. I reach in to my pocket when I'm standing in front of the multiple snack
machines at work and I don't have time for that to be a confusing process. It's
not a bad blog, I think dollar coins suck.

I'm glad something in America does and that sounds like an expensive blow job too!

They are wanting to kill the $1 bill. It costs too much to continue making them. Not to mention, bills can easily spread disease (hepatitus can live two weeks outside the body - think about that one next time you get change at a store!).

Lifespan of a coin - 20 plus years

Lifespan of a bill - 18 months (according to the government)

If they really wanted to get rid of the $1 bill, they would have the banks stop handing them out!

Then people would have no choice but to use the coins!

You're correct JDude7...

Actually the US Government has been trying to do away with the US dollar for years...paper that is. Fact is, they wanted at one time to get rid of the dollar bill and have it replaced with those 2 dollar bills. Not sure if they still hope to or want to do that still...but at one time that was the plan.

Not to mention, bills can easily spread disease (hepatitus can live two weeks outside the body - think about that one next time you get change at a store!).

Now as true as this may be...it's the same with the 5-10-20-50-100 dollar bill as well. The only difference is...the bigger bills over 20 aren't used and or handled no where near what the dollar bill is.

You're also right in that producing paper money, especially the one dollar bill is much more costly to produce than a coin. And that's for the fact that as I read...the dollar bill paper lasts on average from 8 to 18 months...as where the coin averages 30 years.

If they really wanted to get rid of the $1 bill, they would have the banks stop handing them out!

Very true...but from what I have read on the topic of getting rid of the dollar bill in it's paper form...would piss a lot of people off...and that's the main thing that has kept them from getting rid of the dollar bill...

BTW...I usually personally thank all who post on my blogs...but I'll just give out a blanket thanks to all this time around.

Hey all,

Well up in Canada we have them, both $1 and $2, hey look at this way, there an easy way to save a bit of money these, every night unload them from your pants or ladies your purses and put them in a jar with all the other coins, in a few months you will be surprised of what you can get.

I hate coins, never carry them.

Use plastic anyways

Cheers to all
