We had about 2" of snow yesterday morning when I woke up. The roads were all covered, but not too slippery. About 2 PM, I decided to go visit some friends. So, I pull up my buddy's snow-covered driveway as far as I could go with my car. He lives on a hill, by the way. So, we're in the house messing around and talking shit. Next thing you know, he looks out of his window and says, "Who the hell is that parked by my mailbox?" Upon looking out, I discovered it was MY car. It had slid about 150' down the drive and was in the road about halfway. I was within 1" of his mailbox post. It hadn't hit anything and was unharmed. If it hadn't hit the small ditch by his mailbox to slow it down, it would've shot across the road and over a big hill on the other side of the road. In 25 years of driving, in snow from New York to Mich. to Oregon, I had never had this happen before. I felt very lucky that the 1rst time it did my car was unharmed.
Just felt like sharing that unusual experience. Bet you thought it was gonna be a sex story, huh?

glad to hear your car was not harmed, but more importantly of course no person was harmed. You certainly were lucky!!

I've seen ice at Honda Stadium (Arrowhead Pond). It seems like it might be pretty slippery stuff. I'm glad we don't have to drive on that stuff here in Southern California. But I guess my lack of experience in driving on ice kind of limits any driving to other states I may want to do during winter

Yeah, you live close to me and we got two inches of snow too. It didn't seem as slick though where I live. Right now the wind is blowing like crazy and we're expecting 0 degrees in the next night or two. It got down to about 9 here last night.

just gotta stay on top of the game. I was backing out of my friends long driveway durring a snowstorm and couldn't see out the rear. Anyways I ended up backing into part of his brick house. Luckily, very luckily nothing happened to the house and I survived the ordeal with two dimesize skuff marks on my 2006 Impreza. Got away pretty lucky. Just learn from mistakes and be careful.

I had an icident that happened many years ago in San Antonio, TX. I had an old VW bug, and had parked it on the street outside a friends house. I stayed overnight because it was raining more then it ever had in 30 years the news said, and Flash floods were predicted. The next day when I went outside,I could not find my VW anywhere. The steers had flooded as predicted, and after a two hour search, my friends and I found it floating in a ditch.
