Why is it that some People post their blogs for all of the Community at AMD to see,,,,Airing out their laundry as to speak,,,,Asking for advice,,,,Then taking it offensive when someone does post something nice,,,,,,Turn and Block It,,,,, If the person that Wrote It comes back at them with nothing but hatred insults,,,,,When they didn't even read the posting correctly,,,,They read in between the lines,,,,,Taking a compliment as insults,,,,,Just like when people visit profiles and essays and it seems they didn't read it and try to correspond with you anyway....Is it had we have too many people that are Immature, Illiterate or just plain seeking attention with their incomplete blog?????

I'm quite new to this blogging stuff but I have learned to turn on auto-approve and just enjoy the varied responses. I just speak my mind, it's called the FIRST AMENDMENT to the U.S. CONSTITUTION for those people who think this is some sort of communist dictatorship site. Anyhoo, just try not to take it quite so seriously.

I think BelAir is right. I also am new to blogging. Never did it until I came to this site 1 month ago. But I do my best and accept all comments, good or bad. Each person has their own views and opinions. They should be allowed to express them. Just as you have the right to blog what you wish.

Myself I have posted things expecting negative feedback. I expect at times to see things divided between the men and women or from coast to coast and I surprised to see the results. I do not expect everyone to agree with me, nor will I agree with everyone. If you want to comment negative to anything I post please feel free to do so, it does not make either of us wrong or right nor will I take it as an insult for your opinion being different. If you post ANYTHING you better be ready to get some negative comments from time to time or simply do not post. But under no circumstances does anyone have a right to attack anyone for there difference of opinion. It’s just a blog. I say have fun with it all…Good blog MEMEME...

I dont think people here are that illiterate or Immature. But sometimes it does happen like you said. I myself was blamed for airing dirty laundry here by a certain member. But i never went back to insult the member at all. It was the member's opinion that the member wrote and i just clarified some basic facts about it via email to the member. And any member who can logon to the computer and find this kind of site would not be dumb, immature or illiterate. They might act like one though and there could be various reasons behind it.

Well, although I do not sensor blogs myself, fact is the ability is there for us to use. If your comments are not posted on a blog that you feel needs to be heard, simply post it to a new blog. There is no sense in making a mountain out of a molehill. Just my opinion.

str8ngr84u2 has a point: everyone has the right to block people who offend, scare, or simply rub them the wrong way for a reason - and if that means someone can't post comments to a blog, oh well. For some reason, people think the constitutional right to free speech overrules people's right to choose what they will or will not allow themselves to be subjected to. It does not - and I, for one, will not be shamed into allowing myself to be berated, insulted, patronized, or antagonized by being told I'm not upholding someone else's constitutional rights when I don't allow comments from certain people. And if that makes me a bitch, so be it.
I realize that this statement makes me look like I don't support the right to free speech, which is not correct; I am very much in support of free speech. But there is a difference between stating an opinion and attacking someone, engaging in a debate and inciting a riot, sharing an opinion versus forcing one...I think we have to be careful about those who use "freedom of speech" for malicious purposes. To me, it's not always about what is said; sometimes it's about how and why it's said.

I forgot to say that a situation I noticed last night is a clear example of the difference:
One member commented to a blog stating that the content was offensive. Not the member who posted it - the content itself.
The member who posted the blog turned around and left a comment on the commenter's blog basically attacking him. Not the blog content, him.
Is anyone seeing the difference here and the point I'm trying to make?

I have never deleted a comment from my blogs and it is set to automatic, now I have never had anyone actually "attack" me in one of my blogs either, but if I did I would probably delete, because this person would obviously be looking for attentions and I really would not want to give them that satisfaction. We all have a bit of a bad habit on here of letting the inflammatory rhetoric get way too much attention. I think it is great how we protect and look out for each other but I think ignoring them is better and not feeding into their frenzy.

Actually, I didn't even delete those comments; I left them in my blog. I did, however, block him and he wasn't able to do anymore...Did I infringe on his freedom of speech? No, he turned around and posted his comments to me (about me) elsewhere!

my blogs are on auto, i welcome hearing from someone with a different opinion. However, that does not give a person the right to attack an individual person. I haven't experienced this, but if it happened on one of my blogs i would delete it. Having a different opinion is great, verbal abuse is unacceptable!

I had one recently where I made a joke and said she might have been breaking a blog rule but nahhh, she was still ok as far as I was concerned
and it was all in good light, and I got back:
YOUR A SO CALLED MAN SO GROW UP
I just went to see the e-mail and it shows her account is cancelled. Good riddance
I wrote a nasty e-mail back like "it was in good fun and I was very sincere about my light tone, you need to read it again and try and PROCESS it this time".
Sometimes I just don't like to take any shit

I posted a blog that was a play (very short- 5 min. read), before I could even go back to see if it had posted correctly, Belair had posted a very insulting comment that my play was shit. Little did he know this play was nominated for and won an award when I originally wrote it several years ago. His comment was, " who wants to read this shit?" I wrote to him and asked why he was so hostile, his reply was that I was a guy and I should write to females here instead. He then went on to trash all blogs I posted afterwards and accused me of being a faggot if I continued to write to him asking him not to trash my stuff ( when he obviously didn't take the time to even read what I posted.) 1st ammendment rights are fine, but childish trashing of others is rude. If I am to be considered a cry-baby because I feel this way, maybe I should post all of his letters so others may see that this otherwise ok guy has a dark and cruel side, not seen in blogs. I wrote a blog the other day that expressed my views that these blogs are being used by losers at this site to offer avice that they couldn't possibly be experts on and I got 50 or so rude replies that I was wrong, all were insulting. I have since posted world-class poetry and plays exclusively to show that words are very powerful tools in the right hands, also to "class this place up a little".
I have dumbed it down a bit for the 4th grade reading level Belair so perfectly demonstrates here. I forget, When you write something for public audience, I must keep in mind that there are some that will call it shit if they have to read more than a few easy words. In that light, Why trash is a question and and answer.
viva 1st ammend.!

2 cents............ I get to pick and choose who speaks...... and somewhat control the fuel for fires in blogs..... the forum spot is an open unsensored area, that you are free to cause havok if you must........ thats the main reason I come here to speak instead of forums......

I have my comments set on auto approval, because there are days when I can't get in here to approve comments. I've been bloggin at blogger for a few years now and have always had some form of online journal. In the past I've dealt with uncouth people and I've come to this conclusion: Not everyone agrees with me and even more miss the point of what I blog about. Most keep it to themselves but some can't contain themselves so they spew out their rude comments. I ignore them. It's not worth the energy to stoop to a low level. Life is too short to drink bitter wine.
One thing I believe some folks forget is that there are real people behind user names (except the spam bots)...real people with real feelings. It's easy to be rude and it's easy to type things that you would never ever say in real life to someone. If we (everyone online) would take a moment to think before typing...think about how it will sound and how it will affect the person the comment's aimed at--whether it's about a blog post, a photo or personality... this site would be a better place.
Somewhere in the bright blue yonder, some of us have lost a simple act of humanity,...and it's called being "courteous or respectful."
That's all I have to say for now... let's party on.

It's not anything new. You remember those old "Pepsi Challenge" commercials? There were independent study groups that examined the data and found that more people were actually selecting that they preferred Coke, but Pepsi only showed the video in their commercials of people that chose their product.
How could this be? After all, they said "In a Nationwide Survey, it was found that more people preferred the taste of Pepsi to Coke."
That sort of tactic is well described in a book called "Tainted Truth", and it's all in the wording. For example, if you know that there's a town in California that prefers Pepsi, and one in Georgia that prefers Pepsi as well, then you conduct your research in those two places. Then you can say things like "Coast to coast, the Americans we surveyed prefer the taste of Pepsi!"
Only allowing data that supports your argument is in poor form, and it's inaccurate, but people do it all the time.

I used to think just like you.. no really, I did, because A) I can out argue a stop sign, and B) people's opinions mean squat to me.
I've grown so tired of the petty shit here, the whining about who approves what, a couple of senseless trouble makers and a few idiots posting nonsense, I started blocking people rather than continue to argue day in and out.
I don't cherry pick comments, but people who irritate me repeatedly get blocked. I don't mind disagreements, I mind disagreements just to be an asshole.
Take it or leave it, thats my new practice, be a prick I block you....
