Relatively speaking, we have recently seen massive societal change. Most notable are the legalizing of gay marriage as well as pot in various states.

About a year ago there was a ground breaking commercial for Cheerios that caused quite a stir and even went viral, eventually making national news as it involved a mixed child, black dad and white mom.

Since then I have seen more and more mixed couples and families in TV commercials.

1) Have you noted this?

2) If so, what do you make of it? Do you think the sponsor does it in recognition of the future to appear cool and increase the bottom line?

3) Do you think that in doing this that they are embracing diversity and making a corporate social statement?

4) How do you feel about commercials with mixed families/couples?

5) do you think that mixed relationships are becoming more mainstream?

Obviously

Isn't that the whole concept and intent of advertising

3) Do you think that in doing this that they are embracing diversity and making a corporate social statement?

That would depend upon the company but it is very much secondary to the bottom line.

4) How do you feel about commercials with mixed families/couples?

It doesn't bother me. There are many more elements of advertising that bother me

1. I noticed it but did not really think anything about it as mixed couples have been a reality since the 60s.

2,I actually think companies are catching up with the times and are actually running a bit behind, Of course it is their bottom line, it is always the bottom line when it comes to advertising,

3. I think they are showing diversity because you change with the times or you die with the times and they are trying to hit all markets,

4. Why wouldn't they show mixed couples in commercials? There are a lot of mixed couples out there and they buy things too, I did not even think anything about that commercial at the time but it does reflect well on the company it represented, That is like the company I used to work for now have ads with same sex couples for mother's day and father's day, It is the reality of America and corporations want to sell things to everyone,
