I'm just checking in. I don't come on here very often but do so to see if old friends post and some do On one hand I have a life in the real world, on the other this site is comatose

Nothing really newsworthy to report, just enjoying the idle life and loving not having a boss, schedule or obligations : )

We had some good much needed rain yesterday and Friday, but that has been it over the last two weeks. There has been a lot of heavy rain and even tornados in the Houston area but not here. The weather here on the “island” is considerably different. We are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Life is good here, but I miss having my own place. This apartment living is not to my liking… too much noise above and to the sides. Too many rules also, like not having a pet. I miss not having a dog

I hang with buds most of the day and night; watch baseball, play dominoes; drink, eat, and be merry I am content with that Fishing is problematic without a boat as almost all of the shore is private property so there aren't many places to go The beach is a quarter of a mile away so I take advantage of that and all of the cool restaurants in this tourist town

I had been seeing a lady but she relocated 100 miles to the north to be closer to her son. It was a deal breaker but I feel she made the best decision for herself as she had separation issues. I didn't really see LTR potential. It would be nice to have a femme friend and I am looking into that, but not too hard

My garden is doing awesome and as of this writing, no insect damage About all I have to do now is water and pick veggies The feral tomatoes are producing the most flavorful cherry tomatoes I have ever tasted Unfortunately, they are not prolific, but my Early Girl tomatoes are. i'm getting five to seven everyday off of two plant The New Zealand spinach is bountiful also I have spinach and tomato salads daily and give a lot away. The downside is, that in a 4’ X 8’ bed, it is the survival of the fittest the way I plant. In this case, the black eyed peas and cucumbers got mugged and dominated by the spinach and tomatoes The peppers and basil have held there own and have been productive

Thanks for stopping in and saying hi.

It's finally warm here, that nasty winter is history. That was a brutal damned winter. I'm so glad to be having 80 degree weather.

Although, with working full time now, I haven't had much time to even attempt a small garden this year. I doubt I'll get to it this year, but haven't totally ruled it out yet. I might try yet.

Been a tough week, won't go into detail here in a blog. But things are starting to get a little better...

So....gonna mail me some of those tomatoes?

I have been busy making soap and my jewelry line here. It is slowly gaining sales to the point I can pay my bills from what I make with those items and Ebay much to my youngest son's relief, I really don't see myself ever truly retiring and realize I would be bored to tears if I had all that leisure time, I heard the outlook for this summer's weather and ditched the idea of planting a potted garden other than a few flowers, The farmer's market, a couple blocks away, has fresh produce at good prices and without the hassle, Other than that nothing going on here either, Not much to do around here once you have seen all the military museums,
As for a social life, I took a good look at what was available in the area and ummmm no. I have little in common with most of the locals, I don't drink beer, think the rebel flag should be confined to museums and can't stand talk radio, So that pretty much eliminates the dating scene for me in NC and the surrounding states, That is fine with me. I kind of like my own company at this stage in my life, I think a dating ad for me would have to read a man with tools and good at house repair please send pictures of tools,

I just want to let you know I read your blog....loved it...especially the part about the black eyed peas and cucumbers getting mugged by the spinach and tomatoes...ur too funny!

I would write more but I gotta get off here and go lay down...I'm trying to recoup from my garage sale and I feel pretty rough 'til I get more rest. Maybe more later...

Apartment living always has disadvantages like a pet deposit most people will not pay for because its three bills in @ least in my general for a large pet. That is a fund they usually never give back. On fishing I have had my share of salt & fresh . Lakes, bays, deep sea, ship channels, & rivers. My childhood was lakes & rivers. I like both but because I grew up on freshwater I'd be better apt but I still want to get in a shark tank & say howdy to the great whites. Why not I've swam with 10 & 12 ft gators with no cage about 20 ft away. When they submerged I got alittle leary.
