Yeah, a boring weather blog I was going to say good afternoon to people I emailed, but that would be a lie as it is really dreary, damp and murky outside, 31 degrees, about 30 degrees below normal The wind must have really kicked overnight as there are several palm fronds scattered about.

We are only about five degrees warmer than Missouri There is a wintery mix just a few miles north of me This kind of weather; cold, windy and 90 percent humidity really causes me problems with my arthritic knees

Fortunately, this dreadful weather should recede tomorrow and we will be into the high fifties, low sixties this weekend. This vortex as they call it now is a problem for many. Like hurricanes, the National Weather Service now gives these things names. I would suggest calling this one Dick as that is what many people are getting

I almost (not quite) feel guilty about bitching about it when I consider all of the MD people in the rust belt. The long term forecast is for another one to roll down next week in the east. That ought to make for a real pleasant evening for watching a football game in New Jersey

I am so done with this winter it's not even funny. It's not even the snow...it's this cold.......with no damn relief in sight. It has really jacked up the utility bills around here.

Winter made an early arrival....I'm hoping Spring will arrive early.

A little joke I saw on face book this morning:

I think it's time for Old Man Winter to get Mother Nature drunk and have a little fun making Spring.

Seriously...something needs to give here.....it's beyond crazy. It's been an almost constant single digit high since the beginning of December around here, except for that brief January thaw that lasted only a couple of days.

I was reading an article in one of my science publications that said we can expect more of this weather for the next few months, While I do like cold weather better than warm there is no snow with it so that is no fun at all. Good news is this summer the insect population should be more or less under control. I have a feeling from now on we might be experiencing hot summers and cold winters due to arctic melting playing havoc with the air and ocean currents, This is probably going to be the new normal,

We got a good 5" of snow here this morning, as temps, started climbing up a bit overnight to around 20, with a high around 30 today I think.

After today, another artic cold blast, where we'll start seeing lows -5 Monday through Wednesday, with highs only up in the lower teens. More snow expected for a couple of more days next week.

We also had some thunder snow here yesterday.

Today it got up into the upper 40's believe it or not. Tomorrow another artic front will move through dropping temps. down to -5 tomorrow night, with a high of only around 9 for Tuesday.

I just gave up, snuggled down with my Kindle and box of kleenexes and said fuck da world...lol

I have been so miserable with a head cold for almost 2 weeks that I've hardly been on Zelda at all. Yesterday I wasn't on at all then last night I could tell there was a change...you know, like I'd made it over the hump and today I feel pretty good. Susie took me to the store, we stopped at the Deli for a soda and took a ride around the country square to check out the roads. The north/south roads are awful with most of them barely one lane. The snow is still blowing across them with this wind and so frikkin' COLD. I think our HIGH on Tuesday is suppose to be all of 1 degree...no typo there, just ONE degree with wind chills to 45 below zero.

Apparently February is suppose to be just as bad and maybe worse or so I hear. To make matters worse, the propane gas company is now rationing propane, delivering only to seniors and families with babies.

It's just a mess! Again I'm so glad I am retired!!!

The winter weather has been weird and brutal this year for much of the country that is not used to it Here in Galveston they are clamoring as we might, but probably not, get our first snow in nine years tomorrow

The whole area is freaked out over frozen precipitation for one day People are stocking up at grocery stores as if they will be iced in for a month The bad thing is that these people do not know how to drive in ice and are a menace to themselves and others I don't plan on going out but if I need to my explorer has 4WD, very few vehicles here do.

We have cold weather and amazingly enough snow so I am a happy camper for the moment,
