I see the news on TV or the Net and for a couple of months there has been very little catastrophic happen or bad news compared to usual Yet I come on here and a lot of the posts remain negative and almost desperate in finding something to complain about It is usually insignificant or some worn out ancient, rerun lament

I just shake my head and ask myself if I really am entertained, amused, enlightened or care to be exposed to people steeped in such misery? Needless to say I chuckle at my own stupid question and obvious answer Hell no

There is a lot of life to live, ways to think and feel that go far beyond the myopic tunnel vision we too often see barfed out on here. Someday we will all breathe our last breath. I expect when that happens for many the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby will be appropriate

I have been down in Galveston on the Texas coast for about three weeks. Things are moving along nicely Even though it has been cooler here than normal like much of the country this year, it is still a vast improvement over the cold that I left behind None the less, the cooler temperatures have resulted in the fish moving to deep waters and attractive younger women wearing more clothing

I have acquired enough fishing tackle along with a pole so as to be able to feed the fish when the weather warms up and they come in looking for a free lunch. I have also located places to do this without cost

I have been enjoying weekends partying and watching/playing games with my friends I have made some new ones also that are retired to do things with during the week as my long term friends still do the eight to five thing

I have also been enjoying dining at cool eateries which I had missed. There were quite a few in Missouri in Columbia, but Mexico and Marble Hill offered very slim pickings and variety that was mediocre at best I also like not having to travel more than a few minutes to get anything I want It really saves on gas I also have a place for a garden and expect to commence on it by months end I can probably get lettuce, spinach and chard happening now

Life is good

Glad you're settling in Wow, send some of the sunshine back up north will ya?? It's been crazy weather lately in the Ozarks. I got in some riding today, but will have to tarp down the bike tight for the next few days to come! It's 55-60 one day and highs in the 20's the next! Can't pack away sweaters and boots, but had to dig out some tshirts! I'm settling into my new life quite well also! Sorry we didn't get together for another lunch before you headed south! Maybe I'll head your way one of these days, I do miss running down to the coast!
