Do you think marijuana should be legal for all states?

Do you occasionally use marijuana?

When was the last time you used marijuana?

As for me, I have never used marijuana. I do know what it smells like however.

I also personally feel that it shouldn't be legal. Just another addiction that people can do without.

Here are the cons of Marijuana Legalization

Immediate Effects of Marijuana1

•loss of restlessness
•hallucinations, paranoia, psychotic episodes
•impaired coordination
•impaired motor ability
• mood swings
•increased appetite
•impaired ability.

Long Term Effects of Marijuana:

•the loss of brain cells
•lung cancer
•chronic bronchitis
•energy loss
•slow confused thinking
•and blood vessel blockage.
•Use by adolescents can disrupt emotional development, delay puberty, and can delay the monthly cycle in females.
•Marijuana may produce a mild physical dependence that causes minor withdrawal symptoms when discontinued, including nausea, insomnia, irritability, and anxiety.

Physical effects of marijuana

•weight loss or gain
•impaired sex drive

Gateway Drug

Marijuana can be a gateway drug, which means it can lead to the use of many other harmful drugs--Children ages 12-17 are 85 times more likely to use cocaine Marijuana has also been linked with teen violence, suicide, crime, and unsafe sex-HIV transmission.3

Marijuana V. Tabacco

A marijuana cigarette(joint) contains 50%-100% more tar than that of tobacco.
Smoking one joint is equal to smoking 7-10 cigarettes.
New harvesting methods made marijuana 20x more effective than it was 30 years ago. It can be laced with other drugs and the smoker won't even know.2 Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may experience the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers have. These individuals may include: daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. Continuing to use marijuana can lead to abnormal functioning of lung tissue injured or destroyed by marijuana smoke.
Legalization of marijuana would not cut down on all crime, alcohol still causes family disputes, rape, robbery, reckless driving, and murder.

Effects during Pregnancy

Research has shown that babies born to women who used marijuana during their pregnancies display altered responses to visual stimuli and increased tremulousness which may indicate problems with neurological development. Marijuana exposed children have also been found to have more behavioral problems and to perform tasks of visual perception, language comprehension, sustained attention, and memory poorly. In school, these children are more likely to exhibit deficits in decision-making skills, memory, and the ability to remain attentive.

Last week.

I don't know who put these facts together, but I think it's a safe bet they have never used marijuana.

Yes, they should. People are going to use it regardless...hasn't the last 30+ years since the useless War on Drugs started shown that?

It's been a couple of years since I last had any.

I used to use it a lot in high school and through my younger years....and well damn.....when I went back to college recently, I got all A's and B's in my courses. Hard work and studying accomplished that.

Now this one is totally wrong:

•weight loss or gain
•impaired sex drive

Only time I've ever had diarrhea is when I've had a stomach flu

Cramps are when I'm on my period.

Weight loss????? Whoever wrote this up has never used it. Weight gain? In some because they don't control their munchies.

Impaired sex drive????????? Hell no! If anything, it increased it. It also enhanced the total feel and experience of it. Again...whoever wrote this, never used it.

Long terms effects......common sense will tell anyone that inhaling anything besides air is not good for the body to begin with, that goes for pot, cigarettes, cocaine, and whatever else people are inhaling for a buzz.

I will not sit here and safe pot is "safe". But I will say that alcohol can be just as dangerous as pot. Cirrhosis of the liver comes to mind, wasting away because one is too drunk they never eat, drunks become mean and violent...and alcohol is legal.

We all have our vices...who are we to judge anyone?

Just a few more thoughts on the list of effects of marijuana...

Loss of restlessness. Is this really a bad thing?
Excitement. Wait a second...isn't that just the opposite of "loss of restlessness"?
Impaired coordination. Impaired motor ability. I think these both happen with alcohol to an even worse degree.
Mood swings. They are much worse with alcohol. Anyone who has ever sat with a crybaby drunk knows this.
Increased appetite. Yup! The food tastes better too!
Impaired ability. Ability to what? It really does increase creativity and awareness. The funny stuff is funnier. The sunset is so beautiful you can almost taste it.

Physical effects.....
Diarrhea? Never! Diarrhea with a hangover? Oh, yeah!
Cramps? Never! Cramps with my period, with stomach flu, with vomiting, with over-exertion? Uh-huh!
Weight los or gain? Ok, which is it? Choose one. Nobody's weight stays absolutely the same forever.
Impaired sex drive? That's an outright lie!

This really sounds like facts straight from Reefer Madness!

Also, I believe the quality of the weed is directly equal to the quality of the high. I started out smoking stuff that was $60 an ounce. I now smoke weed that is $25 a gram. That equals $700 an ounce.
In this case, you do get what you pay for! I get high on less, I stay high longer, and it definitely cuts down on any impairments in coordination or motor ability.

For reference, I am 49 years old. I did not try marijuana until I was 21 years old. Until 6 years ago, I was a very infrequent user.

I smoked a few times back in my early twenties, Never did anything for me so I considered it a waste of money, Yes it should be legal, It is less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes and does have some medical benefits for people with certain medical conditions and they need to stop warehousing people for smoking a joint just so these corporate prisons can have slave labor, Most cops i know say they feel like an idiot busting people for an ounce of pot and could better use that time preventing real crimes,

I think man....
...I forgot what I was going to say.....
Man I'm hungry! Are you gonna eat those chips...??

Jan 10 @ 10:39AM
So, that's what's wrong with some of you.
