Life....it's to be appreciated. I look around me, and there is so much to appreciate, even after going through a loss.

The sun is shining today, and even though it's mid November, it's a "warm" day. Some of the trees still have their leaves on them, but most have shed their leaves. Soon, there will be snow on the ground.

The holidays are approaching. I'm hearing that some stores will be open on Thanksgiving day for people to start their Christmas shopping. Seems like Black Friday is getting shoved back to "After Thanksgiving Dinner" shopping. Some people are griping about it.....it's the end of the world to have those stores open up for Christmas sales and shopping at 8pm on Thanksgiving day. How dare they, and how stupid, and everything else. I'm seeing people arguing for and against it...name calling and the works. Wow. People sure get worked up over things. Here is an idea......don't agree with it.............don't go shopping. Wait until Black Friday and go shopping if that is the way you want to do it. All the bitching and crying online about how stupid it is isn't going to solve anything. And for people who already have their mind set one way or the other................isn't going to change their mind no matter how much yelling or whining one does.

So, anyway, whether it be 8pm Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday, I will definitely NOT be in any stores!!! Those shoppers can be insane!!!!!!!! And pushy. Last year I totally forgot that Wal Mart announced they would open up at 8pm on Thanksgiving Day for shoppers. I remember that morning running out of cat food, and wondering where I could find a store open to get some, and my sister told me Wal Mart was opening at 8...so, on the way home, I stopped in. And OMG!!!!!!!!!! I had never seen that parking lot so full!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew I should have just went home, but my cats needed their food, and I needed milk for my coffee...so I went in anyway. Never again!!!! It was packed, and people were pushy, and what normally takes me 5 minutes all together took a half hour!

I'm thinking amazon or ebay might be the way to go with Christmas shopping this year. No being bumped around, ran over, elbowed, pushed, foot stepped on...etc.....just sit home, quietly browse for deals and have the stuff delivered. Sounds less painful...at least in the physical sense. Maybe not so painful in the wallet if done right.

Since everyone in my family is now adults we "play the game" gifts for under 5 and we have a great dinner. And I usually just use gift cards for those I do buy for

If people refuse to shop on Thanksgiving for some useless gadget that will be in a drawer and forgotten by the end of January then the stores won't open, I refuse to shop Black Friday, Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve, After working retail for years let me give people a little hint, The two weeks before Thanksgiving actually have better prices than Black Friday, a better selection and you do not have to fight the crowds, Also wait about four days after Black Friday for the stores to restock their shelves and shop then, Black Friday is completely out of hand and there is no reason at all for the stores to open on Thanksgiving, Employees should have that day off as a paid holiday to spend time with their families not working long hours without holiday pay, At places like K mart they were told if they did not come in on Thanksgiving they would no longer have a job there, Those stores are opening at six am on Thanksgiving, What this all boils down to is corporate greed and you can bet the big shots are sitting at home with their families on that day,

For my shopping this year I decided to boycott all the corporate giants and shop at either small local businesses or small sellers online, I have a friend who is half owner of a small jewelry making company that sells online and this time of year means if people like her stay in business for another year,
