Yes, Obama has a 37% approval rating right now.

Bush's lowest approval rating was at a 37%, but that was with the lamestream media attacking him constantly. Now, If the lamestream media ever finally decided to turn on Obama, his approval rating would probably plunge 10-20% more overnight. Good thing Obama has the lamestream media on his side, or he would be looking at a somewhere between 17-27% approval rating.

Too bad they keep propping him up to keep his approval ratings up more than they should be.

ALL of Congress and the President's approval rating is low. The people are pissed off at all of them for the childish behavior being shown by Congress and the White House.

Congress' approval is far lower....I think it's like 6 or 7%? Dang I gotta go look that up. I was off a little bit. It's actually at 5%.

Congress Dismal Approval Rating

Obama is in his second term, like I said with Bush, he isn't going to be that concerned with it....he can't run for President again, so it's not going to really affect him after he is out of office.

It's those in Congress who should be worried about their approval ratings because their ratings are in the sewer.

Another poll states that congress has a approval rating of 10%.

Congress has pretty much always held a very low approval rating, regardless of which party controls one, or the other, or both, which Republicans control the house part, while dems control the senate right now. That's nothing new.

Now, if we start talking about individual approval ratings in congress, all that changes, because there's a face with it, and a record with each one.

For example, Ted Cruz has taken a lot of hits from the lamestream media as of late, which has dropped his approval rating from low 60's to something currently to 41-42%. Far from the 5-10% range, and still better than Obama right now. But as I stated, the media plays a roll in the public opinion polls with who they continue propping up, and who they continue tearing down.

It is called "main stream media", which, I don't give much credence to anymore.

Dates of second term

approval rating

Harry Truman

January 1949-January 1953

Dwight Eisenhower

January 1957-January 1961

Lyndon Johnson

January 1965-January 1969

Richard Nixon

January 1973-August 1974

Ronald Reagan

January 1985-January 1989

Bill Clinton

January 1997-January 2001

George W. Bush

January 2005-January 2009

Historical trends

Well....Obama is .5% higher than his predecessor so far.

Looking at this from President Regan onto now...Regan and Clinton kept relatively higher approval ratings in their second terms. Why? Because those two knew how to do their job. They knew the art of negotiating and navigating an obstinate Congress. They KNEW what they were doing. I'm not saying they were "perfect", I'm saying they weren't stupid. Both men were/are smart, and knew how to get the job done.

Actual average approval ratings for full term.

Actually, Bush has a .04 higher average approval rating overall that Obama does according to these polls.

I don't doubt that what you say is true. But it is just a slice of the picture as Dawn points out. I haven't checked to see what the numbers are since his press conference yesterday which was very long.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the longer this impasse drags on and nothing happens as the debt ceiling issue closes in that everybody's approval rating will go deeper into the crapper.

I truly worry now about the lunatic fringe being pushed over the edge and assassination attempts on any one of 537 people
