Sunday, Sunday...

a rainy, fall Sunday.

I tried taking a nap but Sis called and we talked for 2 hours! Can't decide whether to try again or tough it out til bedtime.

Garage sale is over and went better than expected. I swore there'd be no more but yanno what? I'm $200 richer today for it and money very much needed so...I guess I'll do it again next spring.

I need a smoke..brb...

Speaking of smoking...I have a doctor's appt. next week. I'm gonna see about getting those patches to quit smoking. I suspect some serious problems with blood clots so I need to quit. Will tell you more when I know more.

Anyway, my old girlfriend came over Friday evening to look at some of my fall arrangements. I gave her one for a housewarming gift and she bought another one. We talked for at least 2 hours. Then I went over to see her new home last night (just beautiful!) and we talked again for almost 3 hours. We've been apart for about 60 years so we have a lot of catching up to do!

Susie and I went to church this morning. After we got home, she called me about going to a festival but it's raining and I can't believe she agreed to stay home the rest of the day so I can rest. I am so tired after this past week that I can hardly move. I want so badly to finish working packing up that garage sale or working on my computer room but I just don't have the energy. When I get done writing this, I'm gonna sleep the rest of the day....then the rest of the night!!! lol

I'm nearly done with summer projects and I am giddy with excitement. I have a lot of medical things that need done to get me back on track. But mostly I can play and rest.

The leaves are turning, darkness settles in like a soft cloak earlier and the gentleness of fall seeps into my bones to bring peace and quiet. I will slip into the holidays on quiet feet. No hustle 'n bustle. I bought no gifts this year from garage sales and auctions. I will not be buying gifts this year and that's just ok.

I will not be clamoring to put up a myriad of Christmas decorations, just a few sprinkled here 'n there to please my own need to see a little cheer dressing up my little nest.

I will await the first snow with great anticipation and glee. Winter time is a time to rest. A time of soft lights and a warm home and recharging. Winter can be seen with excitement when the snow comes down hard and the wind blows to pile it in drifts like an artist's palate in random whorls to dress up the landscape in brilliant white. Mounds of snow tediously hanging off eves as smoke rises from chimneys and snowmen begin to appear in yards.

Winter can be hard but it's no enemy. It brings water to the land in the form of snow. The hardened ground is a time of sleep for seed and foliage. Frozen in limbo until time of rebirth.

We, too, need to take this time to regenerate. I cannot relate to those who live in a year round mild climate...I could not deal with it. Winter is long and hard but I wouldn't want to live without it.

Now I go take a nap...a long nap...

May my friends here have a good week, may you be safe and always...keep smilin"...

Glad your garage sale was a success!!

The leaves on the trees are changing up here too, and it's starting to look colorful around here. I have always loved the colors of the leaves in the fall....just has that artists look to it.

I love the way you use your words to describe the changing of the seasons....makes them so nice. I'm hoping that all snow storms that hit my area this coming winter do so when I don't have work. Seriously, I love to sit on my couch watching the snow falling and swirling, and piling up in the backyard, and when it's done, letting the dogs out and watching them play in it. Princess loves it, she will roll in it.

I may bitch and grip come February about winter.....but by then, I'm tired of it. But I do like the snow, watching it fall, and how it blankets the earth. And my spruces in the front yard look so pretty when they have snow on them. I'll get pictures of them this year and put them on fb.

Winter is long and hard but I wouldn't want to live without it.

I am making every effort to relocate so I can live without it!!!

Yeah Wayne..I guess I do enjoy it...mostly but it is a lot of work but worth it in the end if ya have a good sale.

Thanks Sugar! I'll have to blog sometime about doing my garage sales by myself...something I was not able to do a few years ago...I'll explain later in a blog. And thanks for the compliment on my description of fall...I'm trying to wake my 'word power' back's been sleeping far too long!

Well Bruce, we can both say, "Better you than me!" I think God created places with mild winter climates 'cause he knew there'd be wimps who couldn't tough out harsh winters! LOL LOL LOL (just kiddin'!)
