Yeah, I'd say that's a good definition of blog land here. Gets a little active, then stalls. Oh well, shit happens...right?

Been thinking about playing the Mega Millions and the Power Ball..make a go at trying to win the jackpots in both. No, not really. I don't have the money to waste on a dream like that. It would be great to win, don't get me wrong, but the odds are very high on picking the winning combination of numbers. I've got an aunt who is a lottery addict. Seriously. I've seen this woman spend her entire paycheck on the Daily Four, the Lotto, scratch off tickets...all of them, and I think the most she has ever won was $2,000. But man, what I could do with that kind of money. A week or two in Bora Bora, pay off all debts for myself, for my family, set up an animal shelter that is a no kill shelter, invest in a healthy portfolio so the money keeps growing, and fix up this house, sell it, and move out in the middle of nowhere and live peacefully.

Hey.....one can dream.

Reality.....car is in the shop having some work done on it. Started off with the heater motor going to hell, mechanic found an oil sensor went bad, replaced it, and now the car is leaking oil as soon as it's turned on. So it's back with that mechanic to get fixed....even Dad said sometimes a bad part can get through and it's not known to be bad till it is used. Because this mechanic is a good person, charges fair, and Dad has been taking his cars to him for about 10 years. And he does guarantee his work, I'm not too upset. It's a used car, one that had been hit pretty hard on the drivers side, so it's no surprise it has things go wrong. Now if it were a brand new car, I'd have to be royally pissed off..but, it's not. All in all, for what that car had been through, it's a decent car. Maybe not the prettiest car on the lot with that huge dent in it............but a good running car. "Built Chevy tough". It's an Impala.

Today I will be mowing the grass for the last time this season. Just gotta get out there and get it done. My neighbor and his wife have been out in their garden, looks like they are getting ready to till it down for the season. I think they're gathering the last of the veggies before doing so. I actually made it through a summer season with no incident from them. Now I hope I didn't celebrate too soon.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

The air actually felt a bit chilly this morning and the high was 79 today, I felt like doing the happy dance over that, The air conditioner is turned off for now although I am sure the hot weather will be back with a vengeance at least one more time, It always is,

The lottery would be nice to move back to a big city, A modest apartment in a good neighborhood, Season tickets to the opera the ballet and the symphony, Like you said one can dream,

Today was a good day, My granddaughter Christina turned ten and for once someone else had the party, I think I might like this trend,

Oh to win big money! What would I do...what would I do? Real big money, I'd get my kids outta debt, get my one daughter some much needed medical 'n dental attention...just in general set my kids 'n grandkids up for life...without making them dependent...they have to work, period!

I'd make Susie sell me this lot I live on and I'd put a bigger double wide home here. I can't think of anywhere else I'd like to live and at my age, this suits me fine but I would like to have a little more space. I'd buy me a new car...nuttin' fancy, just new. Then I'd help as many people as I could.

The weather is kinda jumpin' around here. It's just a tad uncomfortably warm during the day but downright chilly in the mornings and evenings. Fall is definitely here but it'll be a few weeks before it turns really chilly and stays that way to slide on into winter.

Here we have to turn on the heat at night maybe in the middle of November where years ago it was the end of September and we used to get snow a few times every winter where it is now once every four to five years, Unfortunately that means that the insect population is no longer under control by natural means and we are seeing species around here that used to only be in southern Georgia and Florida,

Weather has been typical here...got our warm days, got our cooler days. Had a couple of nights where I've had to turn on the furnace.

Was going to mow the lawn today, but with the rain, I'm going to put that off till next week. No rush really, grass isn't growing like it was a while back. This will most likely be the last time for the season it needs mowing.

I've noticed around here our winters are not like they used to be when I was younger. Used to be we saw our fist real snowfall late October, early November. Now, we're lucky to see a dusting of snow by Christmas. It isn't till January/February we really get any significant snow around here...and then it seems like someone turned on the snow maker and forgot to turn it off.

I'm hoping all the snow hits Ohio so Shawn gets all the snow he's been begging for the last few years.

Oh well, shit happens...right?

Not very often on AMD... the crickets don't chirp because they left and the tumbleweeds don't blow through as they found someplace else to go Once in awhile there is a good post like this by one of the few good people remaining.

The few are all wonderful people except for one sociopath. But whatever floats his boat and I and almost everyone else except for Lippy, hope it sinks I think it has capsized in cyber space and in the real world, confined in dry dock unless sold for arrears
