I turned on the news and they are watching as Kate has gone into labor and the royal baby is due to arrive at any time. I'm sure after 9 hours of labor, Kate is more than ready for that baby to be born!
While I am happy for them on the birth of their child, I have to wonder at the obsession with not just them, but anyone famous. Are people not happy with their own lives, they have to live through the lives of others? Sure, I have favorite actors, actresses, musicians, etc, but I don't "need" to know every detail of their private lives. Yes, as a teenager I used to buy magazines, usually Cream or Hit Parader, mostly because I wanted the posters of favorite groups, and I read the articles also. Not saying I wouldn't have been star struck if a favorite was standing in front of me, I'm only human. But I don't have this need to know every small detail of their lives.
I remember Princess Diana's life, and I always felt for her because she just wanted to be left alone, and was constantly hounded by paparazzi. Yes, she was marrying Prince Charles, she should have expected to be under the media microscope, but that still didn't mean that there were times she would not be sick of it, and want just a few minutes of actual private time with her kids. Of course, Kate, so far, seems to be handling the attention better. Maybe she was better coached? Warned?
What is it with people and obsessions? Is there something so lacking in their life they obsess about something or someone? I had the usual teen age obsession with my favorite rock bands, and actors, but today, if someone were to ask me who my favorite is married to, I'd be saying "I don't know", and would have to look it up. Real life has a way of sneaking up on one and taking over. I have my own life to live, bills to pay, job to do, to be so focused on someone else who doesn't even know my name, let alone know I exist.
I've seen Miley Cyrus's new video, and she has definitely left her Hannah Montana persona behind her! I'm actually shocked that the media isn't slamming her for daring to grow up and not stay that cute little 12 yr old that first hit the Disney screen. I get the impression in that song that she's telling the media to "go to hell". And I can't say I blame her....look at what the media's claws did to Britney Spears. That girl flipped out, shaved off her hair, attacked paparazzi with a bat.....Although now she seems to have come through it and is in a better place. Yeah, the media can be vicious when pissed off. They love a scandal. Like the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case. I sometimes feel like I'm the only person who sees that both Zimmerman and Martin were the cause of what happened. Zimmerman, once he made the call and reported what he saw, should have just gone home and let the cops do their job. But he followed TM. He got out of his vehicle to follow TM, TM, being 17 yrs old, being followed, eventually got pissed, and confronted GZ. At the time TM realized someone was following him, he should have used his phone to call the cops about being stalked, if that is indeed what he felt was going on. Instead, he confronted GZ, and there was a scuffle, where the gun came into play. If both had used their heads and just called the cops and went home....we wouldn't have ever heard of either one. And speaking of this, wtf is up with Ted Nugent? I mean, is he really losing any sanity he may ever have had?
Zimmerman, who was acquitted on second-degree murder charges in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin last year, should consider suing the deceased teenager's parents, Nugent said. The basis for the suit, according to the conservative pundit, would be that "Martin viciously attacked" Zimmerman, resulting in "great bodily harm."
Really? Who's family is grieving the death of a loved one? TM wouldn't have attacked GZ if GZ hadn't been following him in the first place.
Ok, enough of that. I know it's been talked into the ground, but I just wanted to point out that both involved brought about the end result...both had a choice to make...and neither one made the right choice.
