Stevie Nicks!!! I've still got the unopened Amstel light she gave me in the eighties.

Any list of female rock greats that doesn't include Janis Joplin and Tina Turner has big holes in it.

Tina Turner is hot and was a looker. I never saw anything in Janis Joplin in any fashion. But from that era I would like to acknowledge the great, underrated, Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane/Starship She was pretty easy on the eyes too

I never saw anything in Janis Joplin in any fashion.

She wasn't a looker, by any stretch, and Big Brother and the Holding Company weren't particularly talented. But as a balls-out (so to speak) rock and roll singer, she had it going.

But from that era I would like to acknowledge the great, underrated, Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane/Starship She was pretty easy on the eyes too

Yeah, I'll agree with that one on both counts.

Grace Slick's voice had power and on some songs like "Today" she could be captivating, on others like "White Rabbit" she could be sultry.

Joplin had energy and soul, but I just didn't see much talent there. My daughter adores her and has the three CD box set.

Oh, on Pat Benatar, she retired for awhile after giving birth. She attempted a comeback and I saw the show after I left the biz. She still looked great, but had no energy like she used to. She just stood there like a wooden Indian or Roy Orbison. She sounded good and had a great band, but it just didn't make it. I was extremely disappointed

Grace Slick "underated" I think not! Janis for a brief period in Rock was at times awesome.

For something more current, give a listen to Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes album, "Baby Caught the Bus." We get inundated with formulaic R&B revival acts, but this one really has some grit.
