Hearing the news recently about NBC ready to shove Leno out the door, and replacing him with Fallon in 2014 in hopes to attract a younger audience, I can't help but think that NBC is self-destructing. Leno attracts more viewers than Fallon. Not sure Fallon would ever come close to getting the ratings in the 11:30pm slot Leno gets now.

There is talk however about Howard Stern taking over Fallon's show in the 12:30am slot, which that move would be great. Too bad they didn't do that any sooner which would have had had Stern following Leno.

What I also hate is the fact that the Tonight Show will be moving out of Burbank, California, a place they called home for the last 40 years after Johnny Carson moved the show from New York. I hear that NBC is building a very nice state of the art studio for Fallon in New York City.

Any thoughts about what you would like to see in late night tv?

It got a lot of coverage last week. As I understand it the critics find Leno stale but he dominates the ratings from east of LA to west of NYC including the 18 to 45 group. I question the wisdom of killing the goose that lays the golden eggs

A set can be anywhere, who cares.

Fallon would be okay. I never liked Conan as the guy was rarely funny, at least to me

I think moving it to NYC is a good idea as it should have been left there in the first place, But getting rid of Leno is a terrible idea. Maybe it is a budget issue as I am sure that Leno gets paid pretty well for doing the show,

I watched Leno maybe a couple of times and never went back! No one can beat the king of late night- "Herrrrrrres JOHNny" IMO, except maybe Steve Allen and he's not saying much these days!

Conan just is not funny in my view!

I'm the classic example of early to bed, early to rise. Consequently, I'm a non-combatant in the late night television wars. My take on Leno in general is that he's nice, funny, but lacks an edge. That's probably why he's dominating the ratings. The world is full of edgy these days, but not so much nice.

Done deal, Leno out, Fallon in It is moving to NYC, but that is a BFD to me

Fallon is the next logical choice for NBC. I used to watch Letterman over Leno, but he's gone too far left, not only politically but with the guests. I don't watch much TV, late night or otherwise.

One more thought. Leno has not been very Oslama friendly for the last year or so, whereas Fallon is very much a fan of the Stooge In Chief. NBC is trying to recover from a disastrous prime time season last year. Overall ABC with Jimmy Kimmel has won the last 19 out of 26 Late Night wins with triple the ratings of young adults over NBC and CBS combined. It's been rumored Oslama sleeps at NBC, or at the very least MSNBC. And Fallon may cut into Letterman's dwindling popularity specifically among the younger viewers. Look for a surprise appearance in 2014 by Oslama featuring his 'moon walking' tour.

I like Fallon and Kimmel. Letterman, not so much. I"ll watch the Leno monologue but nothing else usually. After that is over I will switch over to Kimmel as his monologue is just beginning.
