I am not talking about personal issues like aches, pains, sexual dysfunction, etc. I am speaking of things that are external to that.

I listen to my YouTube playlists a lot and two things really resonate with me. One is that how many 50th anniversary commemorations there are. The other is reading the comments on the video uploads and finding out a band member died (if I hadn't already seen it somewhere else on the Net)

What prompted this blog was listening to sixties/seventies band Spirit and noting in the comments that their drummer, Ed Cassidy, passed away in December.

I also hear from friends saying did you know so and so died. I have to admit that it all creeps me out more than a little bit. It used to be car wrecks, overdoses, and murder. Now, there seems to be something for everybody

If it all just seems like yesterday even though it was decades ago, then how soon will the final chapter of a baby boomer's life seemingly come to pass

Oh well, every guy has to be a dead man sometime, that's the way it goes

Realizing I have outlived all my old friends but one and two ex husbands, And my granddaughters listening to an old tape of the band I played with and calling it oldies music, OUCH! Don't really mind getting old though, better than the alternative.

For me it would be seeing young adults and realizing that I could be their dad. Also seeing trends over the years to where I just can't relate to some of them. The music for one is not what it used to be, another sign that you have some years on you.

I'm with Straddle...so many things I just can't relate to...the style of clothes, the way teens and young people talk. Since my alarm clock doesn't get good reception, I have it set on whatever comes in the best and that's Magic 95...I haven't figured out what kind of music it is...reggae??? That use to be a soft rock station and I don't know what it is now but although it isn't bad music, it sure is strange!

All 3 of my grandkids are now in their 20's...how'd that happen??? I look at them and it just doesn't seem real.

And like you WoW...so many people I know have died. This little blip with my heart last week has prompted me to update my will and the information I keep for my daughters to assist them in wrapping up my affairs when I'm gone. Monday, a lady is coming from the funeral home to discuss funeral arrangements and costs.

Do I think my time is near? Who knows...but I am just enough of a control freak that I want everything in order so it will be easier on my kids.

My daughter likes my music and the grandson too. I guess that is why it is termed classic rock

When I look at some of the kids/younger adults, and realize they never lived in a world where there were no cell phones or computers, or video games. Where, we just hopped on a bike and rode it all day, sure, maybe a wipe out or two here and there, and it wasn't a catastrophe to have a scraped up knee or elbow, we weren't all padded up with knee pads, elbow pads, and a helmet. I can remember being able to ride in the open bed of my dad's pick up truck, with the wind blowing, and today, that's illegal. Hanging out with friends meant we actually talked, laughed, hung out, and didn't have to text each other while standing next to each other.

When I look at it, we were more "free" back then then what kids are today.

Young men don't look at me anymore. My time for a relationship is running out.....and I just redecorated my bathroom.

I watched a movie with Eric Estrada in it. He has to be close to 70 now. I was only 8 when he was on Chips.
