Hard to believe April 1, 2013 will mark the 50th anniversary of when the soap General Hospital Aired.

Recently the show has started bringing back old favorites and incorperating them into short run storylines before their limited run is over. Too bad some of them can't stick around, the show would benefit tremendously from it with higher ratings, especially if the writing is superb enough. The jury is still out on that right now as the executive producer and the writing staff seems to suffer from ADD or something. Why I say that is that they seem to keep on bringing on more old favorites and more storylines to the canvas to where the storyline(s) you're interested in takes a back seat and put to the back burner before the storyline(s) is revisited in like a months time. This happened with the Robert-Anna-Duke storyline back in Novemeber where it left the fans wondering what happened to Robert Scorpio as far as him trying to be saved after being stabbed in the chest with a huge amount of sedatives that could have killed anyone. The stoyline continued in January with Robert Scorpio in a coma from it. Hopefully they can bring the actor (Tristan Rogers) back as Robert Scorpio this spring and have him team up with his long time friend Luke Spencer for a adventure like the glory days of G.H. back in the 1980's.

Luke and Laura

This one is my favorite opening pic to General Hospital. It's from the 1980's.

The writing has been better lately than it was for a while there. I was getting really tired of the mob story, it was getting old. Don't get me wrong, Sonny is one of my favorite characters, and I'm happy to see that he's getting a better storyline finally besides the usual break the law and have either Alexis or Diane (his attorneys) get him out of trouble. I do miss Jason being on the show..

I'm glad to see Scotty, Luke, Laura, Felicia, and Mac getting more air time. I wish they would get just a bit more. Bobbie is coming back btw. And so is Audry for a brief visit. They have Lucy back because they're bringing back the Nurse's Ball for the 50th Anniversary, and it wouldn't be a Nurse's Ball without Lucy there. And while I'm enjoying this "wrap up" of the vampire saga from the days of Port Charles, I'm about ready for it to be over now. Although, Michael Easton is doing a great job in a dual role of good guy detective John McBain and the evil vampire Caleb Morely.
