Here's something of note for those having trouble getting You Tube to work in Firefox.
This morning when I got up I turned on my computer (as usual) and noticed a new, rather urgent prompt to download an Adobe flash application. Last night, I got another one of many software update notifications from Firefox. As usual, I ignored them both.

Now, as I was perusing videos for tonight, I started getting messages about a missing codec in Windows. I did a search, and came up with this:
Essentially, it says that Mozilla is attempting to bypass copyright fees by using software other than Adobe to play flash clips. Very interesting!

What does that mean, you ask? Wellll, it may mean that before you can watch a You Tube music fest on Firefox, you may have to update your browser. Since it's been ages for me, I GUESS I better go and do it...

Just thought I'd throw that out there.....

I would just get the latest Flash player from Adobe. Adobe's site is excellent for analyzing your PC configuration and installing the latest and best version for you. As long as you there, you might as well update your Acrobat reader too

No, I updated my Firefox software, and everything runs fine now.

That's the point, actually. Mozilla is attempting to avoid fees on copyrighted products (legally, I might add) by keeping themselves open source. Works for me!

My browser and OS on my Mac are so old (circa 2007) I can't update either. As a result, I have a gradual loss of functionality. Until last November my Mac had not on the Internet for a year. When we moved it became the family computer and I could no longer get Yahoo mail to function. I had to go use a buddy's PC to access it and transfer anything of value over to Gmail

Ya know, I never even gave it any thought yesterday after trying to view the youtube link you posted with the type of gun you had purchased on how this may effect me with seaching for music videos for tonight until I just saw your blog. You're right, a download is required for the flash player to work. I went over there to download it and saw that Mc Affe is part of that. My problem would be that I wouldn't want it interfering with the Norton that I have set up on my computer since I'm very happy with it.

I may have to just stick with my I.E. for tonight's party and post what I can without a link to click on it with. I am looking forward to checking out the music links to which my I.P. can view them with with it's flash player.

I'm not as computer savvy as some people are, and would worry that I would fuck up my computer which otherwise works great for me now.

All you have to do is go into your Firefox browser ("Firefox" at the top), click "Options/Options/Advanced," and then on the "Update" tab click "automatically install updates". You might want to keep Firefox closed while the update is downloaded and installed. Seemed to work for me!

I may try that then

I'm always checking for updates with Firefox.
