If you really enjoy having a good time
I hear this a lot. Sometimes it’s, “If you like to have fun,” or “If you enjoy laughing.” I always wonder if the speaker ever met a person who did NOT like to have fun. How can one laugh without “enjoying” it? And what is a “good time” if you don’t like it. It’s like calling me a “human person”.
Who cares? Well, when we read these little messages, we’re trying to decide if we want to know the writer. Of course, it takes the length of a recession to get a picture posted on AMD, so we have nothing to go by, except what the member has written. So the question arises – does this writer have any sense at all? And it’s answered by what he has written.
This writer also says, “Life is too short.” And I wonder…compared to what? The eternity for which death lasts?
And then he says, “get back too me, you will not regret it.” In order for him to make that statement with veracity, he would need to know who I am and what causes me regret. Where did he find that out, I wonder.
And all this before I even get a hint what Joe considers a “good time.” Suppose I wind up at an Obama rally? And then, I wonder…just how unlikely is that with Joe.
