Nothing like watching NFL football on a Sunday afternoon, especially when your team is winning, or have won.
A congrats goes out to Rich's New York Giants. You guys do have to work on your defense though.
I know that there's a few Dallas Cowboys fans on here. All I have to say on your loss today is that you guys played a very sloppy game, but there were some really bad calls made against you guys by the refs too. Some of those calls makes you shake your head and wonder how some of these refs are even qualified to officiate a pro football game.
Congrats also goes out to Bruce's San Fran 49'ers who beat Dawn's Detriot Lions, 27, 19. Sorry, Dawn. I do like the 49'ers, but they're second to my Bengals as far as my favorite two teams goes.
My Bengals got their first win today, 34-27. Just not happy with my Bengals defense. We have now given up a total of 71 points in two games. NOT GOOD! Having scored 47 points in both games, not really all that bad however.
I'm going to say my Bengals will be lucky to go 7-9 this season. Who knows, maybe my Bengals will surprise me and have a winning record this season.
Btw, Donna, how can you let your Washington Redskins blow such a huge lead to a crappy team such as St. Louis? Really, REALLY???! 31-28?
My Bengals play your Washington Redskins next Sunday. Not really sure what to expect from either team.
NFL football can be a funny game sometimes. Philly having beat Cleveland last Sunday won by just a point. Also last week my Bengals got destroyed pretty much by Baltimore, 44-13. Today, Baltimore lost to Philly, and my Bengals beat Cleveland. Some teams have your team's number, while others dominate for years to come. My Bengals dominated Baltimore for a couple of years before Baltimore improved themselves over the past two years and have dominated my Bengals.
The season is still too early to predict what teams have it to go all the way, and which teams will finish last in the divisions. Stay tuned...

We switched over to Dish Direct a few months ago and got the NFL Sunday Ticket free, so I can cherry pick games. That is cool in any case, but especially around here where the selection is often the Chiefs or the Rams But the Rams/Redskins game was a dandy (I watched the end of it). I elected to watch the Eagles/Ravens for the early game and it was good. But I thoroughly the Seahawk/Cowpie situation comedy later on.
The 49ers have really impressed me. I may be biased, but that is one bad ass defense and the offense is not shabby. I didn't get to see much of them last year and felt the jury was out until they played some better teams. Well, granted it is only two games but I am now on the bandwagon, along with most of the pundits.
My Bengals play your Washington Redskins next Sunday. That should be entertaining and a good test/measuring stick for both clubs. RG III is a trip to watch but his youth and inexperience showed up in the fourth quarter of the Rams game (the part I watched). I may watch that one this Sunday, or at least part of it.
This is closing in on my favorite sporting time of the year with football and baseball's post season

This is closing in on my favorite sporting time of the year with football and baseball's post season Me too.
My Reds have been playing .500 baseball since Votto came back off the dl in early Sept. I think it's messed with our team's chemistry. We were doing good with him, but even better without him.
My Reds hitting needs to improve. Our pitching is pretty good.
I'm looking at Reds vs. San Fran. Giants, and Washinton vs. St. Louis (after St. Louis beats Atlanta in that one game wild card).
In the A.L., I'll be the New York Yankees vs. Oakland, and Chi Sox vs. Texas. Baltimore looks to be tough, but I think the the Yankees will win the east. Oakland will win the wild card game against Baltimore.

The Seahawk won, I hope that means they will do better this year.

I have no delusions about the GIANTS this year. They play the toughest schedule of any team after winning the Super Bowl...as it should be. What I don't understand is how NE got such an easy schedule after winning the AFC Championship last year though Then we lost 1 of our best receivers to Bruce's 49'rs. Now it looks like our defense, especially the secondary, has forgotten how to cover anyone. Doesn't matter though....it's still FOOTBALL! And with baseball playoffs coming up soon, it'll be a great time for sports. Have to say I'm really sad about there being no hockey though

I'm a little disappointed that a few of you didn't comment on this blog, as a few of you were mentioned in it. My Lions lost, so I was pouting. And then you go and be a meanie by telling me you like the 49'rs more than my Lions.
And....I'm not too happy with this NHL lockout either! Dammit....I like my football and hockey!
