George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four 'Big Brother' (a novel), a reality by Twenty Fourteen?

I'm not one to go around sounding out that the world is coming to an end by a catastrophic event from say: an asteroid massive enough to make it through the atmosphere, slamming into our planet, ending life as we know it- and I'm not one to go around sounding out that our government is Hell-bent on controlling our country's citizen's lives either but this article puts the 'C' in 'control' capability by our government! Although sometime during my subscription to AMD, I'm sure I've expressed my viewpoint on these two points, somewhere along the lines!

Most people have known for a long time that our government is certainly doing things behind our backs that would surprise and shock us if the population were to find out about them! Most people also know that our government, corporations and various agencies that provide a service for us like license bureaus, credit card/debit card issuers, all financial and insurance services and many other service providers, collect much more information on us than we realize!

But this... this Bullshit is scary stuff because of the enormous ramifications of it all! Our government wants to read what we write, hear what we say and watch everything we do- all under the guise of looking for "threats" to our country! That may well be but...all this info gathering goes way beyond that. If this occurs, how could anyone say: "We're a free society?" How would it be any different than living in Russia, N. Korea, China, Cuba or the Middle Eastern countries, eventually- they're not 'free' societies by any stretch of the imagination compared to our society- so far anyway!

The government interfering in our private lives is unmitigated BULLSHIT and if our citizens don't do something about this, then we live with whatever goes down in the future- IMO!

It seems to be already in effect over the past few years.

With this day and age with the growing threat of terrorism, and the rapid growth of technology, it's only going to get worse now.

It doesn't even surprise me. I remember people hollering about privacy when Bush was passing the Patriot Act. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the government has been spying on us since the start of the new century.

Wonder how good they must be feeling to find out that voters out here think they're assholes.

Oops... I didn't finish my thought on the last sentence in the 3rd paragraph! I've added the rest of that sentence! The rest of the sentence I've added, is in bold print. Sorry about that!
