I can't help but think that you may be without the ability to email people until you decide to upgrade. That's what I ended up having to do. 
But then, maybe it's the actual hitting the limit with emails that you encountered instead of the crap some people have been dealing with on here for roughly a month.

you'll have to tell me ... Yeah, this is one way, but people whose blogs you post on will not show you in their inbox letting them know that you posted on their blog. The only way this will work is if these same people will notice on the blogs page under last commented on and see that they have another comment on their blogs.
