Yep, did my taxes, got my federal refund already, and it's gone. Paid Dad back for the car and paid on a few other bills. I have always wondered, why is the federal refund always so much bigger than the state refund? There are so many credits etc one can take for federal, but, state seems more stingy when it comes to credits. And it always seems I get over half BACK in what I paid into federal verses what I pay into state. I hate taxes, they drive me nuts. I do love this new day and age though. Used Turbo Tax and got a credit I otherwise wouldn't have known about if I had just gone and picked up the forms. Speaking of there anyone out there who still fills out the paper forms? I haven't done that in probably 4, maybe 5 years. I've loved the ease of e-filing.

One would think, with payday from work falling in the same week as getting a tax refund, I'd be able to say I'm ahead. Yeah right...seems this week there are other bills due, like water and car insurance. It's a conspiracy I swear it is. They all know when we file and when we're supposed to be getting more, and they hold their greedy hands out for their share. It's mine I tell ya!!! Back off!!!! Yeah, that didn't work. Still sent them the payments. Oh well, such is life huh? Maybe I'll take the extra couple of bucks I have left over and try my luck with the lottery. I might win a couple of bucks.

So......hope everyone's day is going good. Take care, stay out of trouble (unless it's a fun kind of trouble...then carry on! ).

Hi sugarpie... Taxes? Yeah I use to hate it too...way back when. When I had my beauty shop it was a nightmare!

But since I ain't in the big league of the financial world, when I turned 65, I didn't have to file taxes anymore. WHAT? You say! Well I was surprised too and I think I called my tax man 2 years in a row after turning 65 just to make sure.

I can file state taxes and get up to $100 back but do you think I can ever remember that??? I did get the papers to fill out last year and the gal told me I had all year to do it...well...NOT... I was gonna fill them out in November only to see on them they had to be filled out and sent in by the end of June. I'll certainly remember that this year!

Bills? I know what you mean. I thought I'd never get all my surgery bills paid. I'd think "this has to be the last one" then another one would straggle in. January and this month has been expensive! Next month is license plates...and any other stragglers that I don't know about...

Good blog...good cookie headed your way...

This is the 3rd year I've done my own taxes with Turbo Saves me from paying someone else which I love and it really covers everything. I didn't pay out enough in medical last year but I bet with my dental issues I will this year
