THANK YOU to all who have served or currently serve our country in the armed forces. Today's world can be a very scarey place, and we sleep more peacefully because of your service. During war or peace, daily, you are in harm's way to protect our way of life. Thanks again.

Thanks, Ron. This Monday is the annual fre vets meal at Golden Corral also, http://www.goldencorral.com/military/ (this PC cannot utilize the AMD URL feature).

It is celebrated today (Friday) at Applebees, http://www.applebees.com/menu/vetsday

I won't be partaking in either as the cost of gas round trip (80/90 miles) is the better part of a ten dollar bill for me

I would like to add that more people need to start hiring vets. A lot of them are coming out of the military and people are not hiring them. I am not sure if it is because they are afraid of the PTSD issues from multiple tours in a war zone or what but the % of unemployment rate among vets is extremely high.

Strega, the President has just sent two bills to Congress for passage. One is providing incentives to employers to hire veterans. Commensurate with the bills involves increased therapy for all veterans in areas such as alcohol counseling, PTSD, and programs for retraining our honored veterans trying to make a difficult transition back into a society they haven't been a part of for years.

Personally I think Obama is a twit and this was standard reindoctination initiated years ago, but for election purposes it never hurts to run up the flag and put it on paper in the form of legislation. Whatever the case I hope both bills pass.

Happy Veterans Day, God Bless You for your service and sacrifice to the people of this nation and others. We can never repay you enough.

I don't intend to get into a personal political war but the vets have not been getting the services they need for years. That was true during Vietnam and it is true now.
