After getting rid of a lot of the junk left over from my brother, I did discover a few odds and ends of interest. There is a small box that has feathers in it, mostly from Tandy, a box full of furs, not just scraps, but full skins. Not sure where they came from, or what all there is, but it's there. There are also numerous hand tools like files, jewelers files, punches, some leather hole punches, and letter and number stamp sets. That was mostly buried under some of the stuff that got tossed. Amazing the amount of stuff he manged to collect and drag in here when we moved into this place.
Sorting it all out though is a bit like panning for gold. You have to go thru a lot of gravel to find those few miniscule nuggets, or flakes. Some I can get a couple of bucks for, most I’m not even sure they will sell at a yard sale or flea market. There are a couple of pieces of furniture I’m going to get rid of as well, either my big dresser and the matching commodes, I think is what they are called, or his dresser and a matching chest of drawers. There will be bags of rags, consisting of old sheets, worn out towels, maybe some t-shirts thrown in, and a few odd kitchen things like the 20 or so kitchen knives, a couple of slow cookers, big ones, odd flat ware, good for camping. Then the tables he used for cutting and one he used for gluing and assembly. I would need a 20 ft. U-Haul truck to get this stuff anywhere. So a yard sale I think is what will happen. Oh yes, lest I forget, any one need a good light table? He built it to do patterns and such on, but now it sits here in the way.
Gads, I need to get up and get busy. So much to go thru yet, so little ambition, or so it seems. It is more the seemingly overwhelming task of sorting and deciding what is worth something, and what is garbage or useless to me. And then where to put it all once it is sorted.
