When I was in high school, and through my 20's, Friday nights were the nights my friends and I would get together, hang out, party, kick back..just enjoy. Whatever happened? Oh yeah..we grew up. How insulting!

I remember when I looked forward to the weekends. Now, I normally work on weekends..so, yeah. But I look back at those days and I'm amazed that I survived some of my not-so-smart antics. One such stupid move, a group of us were partying down at my friend's apartment one night. I remember the pot and the booze was abundant...and Steve popped off with telling us he could get some "shrooms". For those who don't know, that's mushrooms that one get can an LCD type buzz from. So, Steve made the call, and he could get them, but needed a ride. His car was in his driveway at home with it's motor apart. So, here I am, stoned, drunk, and I offer to take him. Here's how buzzed up I was...it was winter time, I was driving my sisters little Mustang, she was there too btw, she rode along with Steve and I. And, I didn't pay attention to the temperature setting. I must have knocked it over to cold when I got in the car, anyway, we were going down the road, and the windows were frosting up! I remember turning the heater fan to "high", but it felt cold and sure as hell didn't clear the windshield. So, what was my bright idea? Roll down my window and go down the road with my head sticking out. We got to Steve's friend's house, he went in to get the 'shrooms, my sister and I sat out in the car, and my sister finally asked if I was sure the heat was on and not the a/c? I turned on the dome light and...................................................................................................................................... Yeah, the a/c wasn't on, but, the temperature was set on the coldest setting. I slid that switch to as hot as it would go, and yep! Car got nice and toasty warm!

That was just one of many "duh" moments in life. Don't you just love when those happen?

I think we all had a what was I thinking moment or two when we were younger. I could probably write a book on mine. I think my big one had to be getting into a long conversation about a cop's horse after drinking out of the wrong punch bowl at a party. I am amazed I did not get arrested. My friends said they just about crapped their pants when I walked right us and started petting the horse and discussing the horse's breed. I have little memory of this but I heard about it in detail the next afternoon.

First time I got a ' ' going, was at a friends house while listening to the Stones and partying! After I left late that night, it took me about an hour and 10 minutes to get home, that was normally a 20 minute drive at most! I kept missing the streets I had to turn on by a few miles at first and kept narrowing it down to where I finally could turn on the streets that way I always did when I was coherent, to get home from my friend's house!

We've all been there, well, most of us have been there. Some of my exploits as a young man have reinforced my belief in God. I should not have survived some of the adventures I undertook. But I did and I thank God. Especially for the opportunity to embark on new adventures!

In most cases the short answer would be married with children.

One of the most memorable to me was when several of us were parked downtown
after the stores were closed, with our straight pipes and loud Smittys on every car..
About 3 AM we all decided to go home and on a signal we all started our cars
at the same time and revved them way up!!!
The buildings were all at least three stories high so it was like a canyon..

Sounded like a class 5 hurricane and a 7.5 earthquake at the same time..
Shattered a few windows

I too could write a book on my 'duh' moments! But I'd say my worse one was falling for the first guy that paid me attention after Wayne died. He just had to be the guy that caused the saying "You know he's lying if his lips are moving!" Worse yet, I let him move in with me...

Kicked him out a month or so later but it took months for me to get him outta my system and regain my senses. One of the most awful times in my life!

I'll bet Softies book would sell! From what she has written here since I've been here she is by far the most entertaining and I for one live her blogs.
As far as my moments I better stay mute! I don't know the statue or limitations of some of them!
